Every AI advice/prompt/thought-piece post I’m seeing right now assumes that everyone wants the same thing:

• everyone wants to finish more, faster

• everyone wants their business to run without them

I mean, kind of but not really! I have a slightly different perspective on this:

• I want to spend more time on the things I love and less time on the things I don’t

• I want my expertise, discernment, brain power and magic to be focused on things that are human in my business while what I have already defined as a repeatable thing, repeat themselves without draining my energy.

This may sound similar but the intention is different.

I want freedom, not fast. I want to be in my business where the ME matters.

And if you know anything about me or my work, you know that I NEVER look at anything as a one-size-fits-all situation. AI is no different here.

In this series HD + AI, I will be breaking down how each energy type can use AI to run their business in a way that supports what they are good at, and makes the rest easier to manage.

Let’s Talk about Generators!

Most AI advice rewards breadth. More projects, more offers, more irons in more fires. If you’re a Generator, that’s the opposite of what actually builds your satisfaction (the signal your design runs on).

You’re built to respond to what’s existing. Once you respond “yes” to the aligned thing, you’re built to go deep on it.

Mastery over breadth is the design. Your sacral authority gives you a fast, physical yes or no the second something real is in front of you and once that yes lands, the real work is staying with it long enough for satisfaction to show up, not moving on to the next option because staying felt slow.

Here’s the part almost nobody tells Generators: you will hit a frustration plateau even doing work you genuinely love. That’s a signal to dig deeper or fine-tune. Digging in beats starting over every time.

I know this one from the outside, since I’m a Manifestor. But Be Good Guide, the business itself, is a Generator. It builds through steady engagement, the same client relationships and the same core offers, refined and integrated again and again. NOT constant reinvention.

A system to support a Generator has to account for…

• a gut that gives a clear yes or no to something real and gets absolutely paralyzed by a blank page or open ended question

• a frustration plateau that shows up in work you love and feels like a reason to quit, when it is an invitation to go one layer deeper

• a drive toward mastery that needs one thing held steady long enough to get good, while ten shiny new things keep offering themselves

You see, Generators have the engine. They can carry an enormous amount of work and that is exactly how they end up carrying things that never lit them up in the first place.

The amount a Generator can do is almost always bigger than the amount that feels like satisfaction.

Generators work best with a team around them. Somebody brings the options, somebody holds the repetitive work and the Generator gets to respond, refine, and go deep on the parts that light them the fuck up. Most of the founders I work with are maxed out, stressed out and not ready to hire that team yet.

So this is what I use AI for. I treat it like the team a Generator would have if the budget were there. It brings the sparks, so there is always something real to respond to. It holds the tenth revision, the formatting and the admin that was never going to light anyone up. I am not interested in building a habit that makes you better at admin. I want you out of the admin entirely.

I also need AI to act like the other energy types for a well-rounded team. Generators already have plenty of Generator energy. What they rarely have is a Manifestor in the room, someone throwing off ideas fast enough that the gut always has something to say yes or no to. AI can be that for you.

This is the how…

The ORB (Offer, Respond, Build) Method

Generators need a protective orb to keep them in flow with what lights them up instead of taking on all the things at once. Let’s get into it!

🕊️ Offer

First we have to address the enemies of a Generator → the blank page and open ended questions. This prompt box?

Nightmare fuel for a generator.

The trick? Offer AI something to reference and then ask it to interview you about it. By offering a starting point, you cut time from starting from a blank field and give AI just enough to ask you really good questions, spark ideas and get into flow.

You are asking it to give you something to respond to. You can load in any kind of reference material you have: three directions from your notes app, a rough draft, a template already half filled in, a diagram, a URL, a social post, anything. Explain what you are trying to get to (a strategy, a template, a proposal, whatever) and then tell it to use the reference material and then interview you, one question at a time, with as many questions as humanly possible so that it can understand what you are trying to do. Also tell it to “make no assumptions”.

A Generator’s yes or no needs something in the room to respond to so interviews work really well.

❓ Respond

Let’s dive into the interview portion more specifically and also address general setup for your robots. Set the rule up front: no open-ended questions.

Every question comes as multiple choice, plus one blank spot for your own answer. If you’re naming something, ask for a real quantity of options, five or six and ask for the reasoning behind each one. Your gut still goes first, but check that reasoning against whether it actually holds up, not just whether it felt good.

It’s easy to let AI start feeling like the authority in the room. It never is. AI does a great job at gathering information and options but it is not an expert on what lights you up.

Your sacral response is the authority.

🧱 Build

For a Generator, build means staying with the one thing until the plateau shows up and using AI to dig deeper instead of wandering.

This shows up in two parts: from the jump and mid-project.

From the jump, you can identify all the admin things you don’t want to do because they don’t light you up. Then automate those things. Hate your inbox? Have AI give you a rundown of what’s going on in there and what actually needs you. If it is a task you do on the computer, odds are, it can be automated.

When frustration hits mid-project, that’s usually the exact moment to ask for the version that’s two levels more refined, more specific or deeper. This is not the moment to start something new.

Let AI hold the tenth revision cycle, the version history, the small refinements that used to feel like drudgery, so your energy stays available for the mastery, which is where your satisfaction actually lives.

This could look like taking a draft of a new sales page and having AI review it as if it were your ideal client and have it ask you questions as if you were on a consultation call for that offer. Then have AI roll the changes into the sales page. The more you can move from in the weeds back up to feeling on top of it, the more satisfaction you will experience.

Let’s Talk about Manifestors

I'm a Manifestor. Starting is the fun part.

My brain throws off new ideas the way a bonfire throws off sparks, constant, bright and completely uninterested in staying lit past the moment it caught.

Finishing is where my whole body starts negotiating. The energy that felt urgent on Monday can feel like somebody else's assignment by Thursday.

The first 20% of a project → I am SO IN.

The last 20%? I’ve already moved on…3 projects ahead of where this started.

For years I called that a flaw. Discipline, I told myself. Build the habit. Push through the resistance. None of it worked, because none of it was built for a Manifestor.

Manifestors Initiate

That's the whole strategy: inform, then act, on our own timing, without needing permission.

We light the match. Somebody else, or something else, has to carry it after that. The rest cycle after a spark is how the design keeps working. A Manifestor who never rests between bursts is running on fumes and calling it hustle.

I’ve designed my client work around this. Every project has a distinct container around it. There is no “ongoing forever and ever” project. I pad in time for rest cycles. So even if executing on something takes 2 days, the client timeline is 2 weeks so that the likelihood of hitting a creative urge is high and I don’t feel pressure to work when I’m in a rest cycle.

That part feels really dialed now (and thank fuck because code took years to crack). What is harder is my own business.

Why it’s so hard to figure stuff out for ourselves when it feels so easy to do for clients:

I've spent 23 years in design, tech and product, so systems thinking is native to me.

I was the first Director of Design Systems at Hearst Magazines. Before I pitched “How to Design a Website in 3 Days” to the president of Digital Media, we were designing each magazine website as a bespoke project. There were 50 titles globally (Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Elle, Car & Driver, etc) and they were taking, on average, 18 months to design and build. That 18 months turned into 2 months for a new magazine and 2 weeks for a redesign to be implemented.

Ya girl is used to gnarly systems designs, at scale, with a lot of stakeholders. So why is it so hard to develop a system for the Manifestor energy type? Because the goal isn’t scale and how fast things can move.

A system to support a Manifestor has to account for…

• a nervous system that dreads the middle and sees the finish line like a distant memory

• a creative cycle that literally CAN’T be “on” all the time

• a way to hold all the ideas that come pouring out in a creative urge…and then give them legs so they don’t quietly die in a notes app

You see, Manifestors actually work best when they have a whole team to execute. Back at Hearst I had a team of designers, many engineering and product teams and a pretty solid budget to execute on every system I designed.

Now? It’s literally just me…and Claude and Notion and Flodesk and Squarespace and Acuity.

I would LOVE to have a team to make all my ideas come to reality but my businesses are both fairly early and I’m just not there yet.

And this is where the majority of my clients are too.

Maxed out, stressed out and not ready to expand into a team yet.

So this is what I am using AI for. I’m treating it like my own team of product managers and engineers so that I can hand-off my idea. I am not interested in building a habit to make me better at admin. I don’t want to do admin at all.

I also need AI to act like the other energy types for a well-rounded team. Who doesn’t need generator energy from time to time.

This is the how…

The Good SIR (Spark, Inform and Release) Method

Because I say “Thank you, good Sir” to my robots. They are men and I boss them around like trusted, but green, butlers. I actually never type in “thank you” because that’s a waste of water/energy/etc but that’s a convo for a different post.

Let’s get into the method.

⚡️ Spark

The second an idea shows up, I get it out of my head before I can talk myself out of it. This could be a new offer, something I am musing on, a new TODO, really anything that comes out of a brainwave or psychic download.

I'll talk it through out loud, usually via Apple voice memo (if it is long) and then dump the transcript into Claude OR I’ll yap straight into Claude using the voice to text feature.

Sometimes I’ll have it interview me further and I will always have it do SOMETHING with it:

• Log it as a substack idea to revisit later

• Fold it into an existing offer doc

• Put it on my roadmap

• Draft the email

• Execute on it right them

This matters more for a Manifestor than almost anyone else, because our ideas have a short shelf life. If the spark sits in a notebook waiting for the right time to develop it, it's already dead. AI collapses that waiting period to minutes and moves it into action.

And ACTION creates MOMENTUM. Ideas don’t.

📣 Inform

Manifestor strategy isn't only initiate, it's initiate and tell people. So I use AI to hold the context I'd otherwise carry around in my head and repeat out loud every time someone needs an update.

A clear brief, a project summary, a set of instructions handed to a tool or a teammate, that's the informing your design already wants you to do, aimed somewhere useful instead of getting lost in a hallway conversation.

I have my robots trained to CAPTURE what I am doing, thinking, saying and then having them surface that when I need it. One example is my Content Command Center. This is an artifact I built that reviews all of my transcripts, chats from the week, docs created, notion progress, email and calendar and then tells me, based on my rules, what I could write about that week for my newsletter, my substack and my instagram.

To be clear, IT DOES NOT WRITE THEM. It gives me a recap of what I have actually done that week that might be helpful to my current and future clients. One paragraph per idea and then there is a button for me to have it interview me further and structure an outline.

This Substack Series came from that Command Center. It is reflecting back to me the things that I do that are awesome that would normally never see the light of day just because I am not designed to work that way.

🪽Release

Most productivity advice skips this completely.

Once the spark is out and the people who need to know, know, I let AI carry the follow through: drafts sitting ready for me to approve, reminders that surface at the right moment, small automated steps that keep a project breathing while I'm taking my daily afternoon bath.

That's what makes rest possible without the whole thing collapsing. I'm not managing every step BUT on the steps where I am specifically needed, AI waits and when I’m ready tells me what’s on my plate. I built a structure that keeps moving on its own, so my energy can go quiet without my business going quiet with it.

What does this look like?

• When I get a referral from someone via email, that lead goes into my tracker

• When I move a lead into the “won” category, it makes a client portal and sets it up based on the project details

• When I need to make a proposal, it has everything it needs just based on the 30 min consultation call transcript to scope and price in a first draft for me to review

And soooo many more things. I get to use my brain on things I need my brain on and I get to fuck off and do what I want while it works on the things I have already defined.

None of this makes me a better finisher. It makes finishing beside the point. The work gets done in bursts, with real rest in between, instead of one long grind I was never built to sustain.

You need a system that can carry a project while you rest. In 2022, when Elon Musk took over at Twitter, I got laid off along with everybody else. They offered severance. I looked at it, decided it was insulting, and said no. What came after was a long stretch of not knowing where I’d land or what I’d walk away with.

Around that same time, I set up an altar in my house. Protective crystals surrounding money crystals with one intention I said out loud when I made it: protect what’s mine, and what’s owed to me.

Before I had any real information to go on, something very specific about how it would resolve came through to me. It was the kind of thing you could easily get attached to as an outcome. I noticed it. Wrote it in a journal. Then released any attachment to it.

When the situation finally did resolve, it was spot on to what had come through. I can’t get into the specifics for legal reasons, but the pattern held.

That altar has lived in the same spot in my house since November of 2022. It’s staying there until that chapter is fully closed.

Give Money a Place to Land

It’s actually not really about the crystals but the intention I put behind it is important to sift through.

You can’t protect money by squeezing it until your knuckles go white. Instead, build it a place to land and then get out of the friggin’ way of how it arrives.

I do a version of this every time I spend a meaningful amount of money on my own business, especially on investing in myself or learning something new. I say it out loud:

So far, it’s been working!

Here’s the mechanics of why, as best I can explain it.

When you grip money too tightly, when you’re white-knuckled about not losing it, you end up watching for the next drop instead of the next opening.

You can’t scan for danger and scan for opportunity with the same set of eyes.

You have to pick one. I choose not to hunt for abundance. I choose to stay open to it, which is a different posture entirely.

I see the tight-grip version constantly in the founders I work with, usually right before a launch.

Someone builds a new offer, gets close to putting it out into the world, and starts white-knuckling the number.

What will this make.
Will it work.
What if it doesn’t.

The second that happens, they stop talking about the thing they built and start talking about the outcome they need from it.

The energy of the whole launch shifts from “I built something that genuinely helps people” to “please let this work.” People can feel that difference from the outside.

The fix for this is almost embarrassingly simple: before you launch anything, sit down and write out everything you’re obsessed with about what you made.

Every way it’s going to help people. How good it actually is. You’re rebuilding the connection to the mission before you ever look at the number again. It puts you back in service instead of back in scarcity and it changes the entire vibe and energy of the launch.

You can feel the difference in your own body.

Let’s do a little exercise

Think about gripping money,
fistfuls of it,
held too tight,
knuckles white,
hand close to cramping.

Release and take a deep breath.

Now think about being in service,
having something real to offer that helps others,
how they are transformed by your magic,
how incredible the work is that you have created,
the people you have helped with the exact thing they needed.

Can you tell the difference?

For me, it is astounding. It’s the contrast between some mix of dread, fear and anxiety to pure joy and gratitude.

The Takeaway

Build something solid enough to hold the outcome you want, then loosen your grip enough to let it actually move. You don’t protect money by choking it. Let it flow and let it land.

The altar isn’t really about crystals and the phrase isn’t really about luck. Both are mechanisms I use to loosen the grip.

Its founder, Banu Guler, and her team of roughly two dozen people are now part of Midjourney. Guler becomes Midjourney’s Chief Design Officer, and the company says CoStar keeps running under her direction.

I’ve spent 23 years in design and tech. I know exactly how these acquisitions work, and I know what “keeps running under her direction” actually means in the fine print. I deleted my CoStar account within the hour…and I was not alone.

Here’s the part that matters more than the horoscopes of it all

…and this is gonna get a bit techy for a minute.

Midjourney has always lived inside Discord, working through a server instead of its own app.

That setup left one gap: a direct way to collect personal data from its own users. CoStar has exactly that. Birthdates, birth times, birth locations, years of daily engagement, relationship data for every friend you’ve ever added for a compatibility check. That’s the actual asset in this deal. The horoscope copy is beside the point. Data collected once, for one purpose, is about to get used again for another.

Here’s where I landed: the more personal a tool gets, the more say you get in who’s earned that part of you. That decision doesn’t run on autopilot just because a tool is convenient, popular, or already sitting on your phone.

I want to talk about my reaction process through my Blueprint.

I felt the answer in my body before I’d built a single sentence of reasoning, Splenic authority doing exactly what it’s built to do, fast and physical, done before my mind caught up.

Happy for a female founder, concerned about CoStar being source material for AI then urge to delete it.

I posted a stories about it that same night, uninvited, unscheduled, because that’s the Manifestor part of me.

I don’t wait for permission to have a reaction. I have it and then SOMETIMES I tell you about it.

What took longer was feeling like I earned the right to publish an actual argument instead of just a feeling.

I’m a 5/1 and the Investigator half needed to get precise, on the data question, the funding question, and what I actually took issue with, before I’d stand behind any of it in writing. Putting a bold public opinion out there at all is my 10th house Aries stellium doing its job, that boldness is my natural frequency.

Underneath it is Cancer Rising, which is why the take reads sharp in public but comes from something protective underneath: this is people’s birth data, and something in me goes fiercely maternal the second that gets threatened.

The funny thing is that I actually agree with why Midjourney wanted in.

Astrology and Human Design are two of the most personalizing tools that exist for how someone runs a business, makes a decision, moves through an actual week. That’s the whole premise of my own work.

I use AI inside that work, too. I’ve used it to reformat five hundred and twenty two individual ephemeris events for my Astro Biz Calendar, a job that took a full work week by hand and two days with AI doing the reformatting, back in early ChatGPT days. I’m aiming for an afternoon for 2027’s version with Claude.

I’ve trained a knowledge base on my own analogies, ways of looking at strategy and systems and my own read of chart placements, in Human Design and astrology both, so when I build someone’s Blueprint, it hands me a first draft I finish by hand with the specificity and channeled insight only a real read gives you. Every word in that draft traces back to what I actually wrote, never to generic internet astrology.

The difference between that and what Midjourney just bought is consent.

My data is mine, and I chose to hand it to a system I built myself, for a purpose I picked. CoStar’s users never got that same choice twice.

This isn’t only an astrology story. Every app on your phone is getting more personalized, your health app, your banking app, your to-do list, all of it learning more about you by the month, which means all of it is deciding how much of you it’s earned.

Chani Nicholas built an app that stays human on purpose and says so in plain numbers: no one on the team paid under $80,000, full benefits, five percent of revenue, not just profits, going straight to survivors of gender-based violence, over $3.1 million generated for survivors so far.

CoStar built something designed to keep you opening it, push notifications timed for maximum sting, a compatibility score you can’t stop checking, a daily card vague enough to feel ominous at best and rage bait at worst. Both are personalized. One earns your trust. The other just wants your attention.

I mean their support tab should tell you something…

I’ve also downloaded nearly every astrology and Human Design app that exists, it’s part of knowing the landscape in this industry.

The landscape splits into two real categories.

1. Some tools are utility tools, built for people who already know how to interpret the data and read a chart themselves (Time Passages, Time Nomad, etc).

2. Others are built to close that gap for people who don’t (CoStar, Chani, the Pattern). CHANI is the only app I trust to close that gap with integrity.

For the utility side, I use Luna Astrology to generate charts and BodyGraph for Human Design. Plenty of others are still sitting on my phone.

I don’t want to flatten this into a clean villain story either.

Banu Guler built something four million people use a month and just sold it, and I feel that!

All-women founding teams still raise only around 2% of US venture capital. Even the more generous count, any startup with at least one female cofounder, only got women to about 27.7% of 2025 VC dollars, up from 19.9% the year before and itself a record high.

Acquisitions are worse: only about 7% of US acquisitions in 2023 went to a company with a female founder, and globally that number drops to roughly 3%.

Against those numbers, a woman-founded astrology app getting bought by a major AI lab is a rare, real win.

I love watching a woman succeed. I love that astrology, something so often dismissed as soft or unserious, just got treated like the multi-million dollar business it actually is. Discernment isn’t picking a side. It’s holding both, the real win and the real question about what it cost the people who trusted her with their data.

So here it is again: the more a tool knows about you, the more say you get in who’s earned that, and convenience is never a good enough reason to skip the question.

I was cleaning up my Services and Offers database, the one place in my business that never lies to me, and I decided to actually count. Every offer I have ever scoped since I started Be Good Guide in January 2023. Every single one that got far enough to have a name, a price, a rough outline, before I built it, shelved it, or quietly let it die.

39. 30-9?? Thirty-fucking-nine.

That’s ONE A MONTH. 🤦‍♀️ And I say this knowing full-well that there are probably hundreds more in my notes app that never graduated to Notion.

Of those 39, 5 (yes only 5) are still standing in my current ecosystem. And of those 5, only 4 are actually built around how I work. The fifth? That one is a digital product I launched for the year and will continue to just exist for the rest of 2026.

4 out of 39 is the real number behind three and a half years of running this business. And here's what it taught me: an offer that doesn't survive is evidence it never matched how you're built.

Do I have more ideas in the works right now? Yes. But this time it’s different (I swear!). They’re built specifically and intentionally around how I operate, they extend the offers that already exist in a real way, and they sit squarely in my zone of genius. And most importantly, they don’t feel like I’ll want to scrap them in the next 6 months because they are designed to evolve with me 🎤👊⬇️.

The offers you scrap are the cost of finding what actually fits, and that cost is real, so you might as well look straight at it.

We talk about pivots like they’re a single clean decision, a lightbulb moment, a strategy call where everything clicked. What actually happened for me was 34 separate times I built enough of an offer to believe in it, and then found out it didn’t fit. A pricing model borrowed from someone whose business runs nothing like mine. A delivery format that worked for a coach with a completely different energy than mine. A container I built because it was working for someone else, not because it was working for me.

Every one of those 34 cost something. Not just the hours scoping and building. The clients I tried to sell those offers to and either couldn’t, or could and then dreaded the delivery. The months I spent explaining an offer instead of just running it. The quiet tax of building something and then having to be the kind of person who could sustain it, when I’m not actually built that way.

I’m a Manifestor. I initiate in bursts, I don’t wait for permission, and I need foundational certainty before I move. A lot of those 34 offers asked me to be consistent in ways that fight my actual design: recurring calls on a fixed schedule, a steady drip of content, a delivery cadence that assumed I’d feel the same way about it every single week. I don’t. I never will. It took building the wrong thing over and over to finally believe that wasn’t a discipline gap. It was structural.

I don’t think I’m unusual: if you’ve been in business more than a year and you haven’t counted, you probably have a number like this too.

You don't need my chart to have your own version of this. Maybe it's the group program you built because everyone said recurring revenue needs a cohort model, and now your stomach drops every Tuesday at 2pm when the call reminder pops up. Maybe it's the content calendar you copied from someone who thrives on posting daily, and you've abandoned it four separate times because daily was never going to fit how your brain moves. Maybe it's a price you set because a mentor told you to charge that number, and you flinch a little every time you send the invoice.

None of that is a discipline gap either. It’s the same mismatch, just wearing a different outfit.

If you’ve been in business more than a year and you haven’t counted, you probably have a number like mine. Most founders never track the offers that didn’t make it. They just feel the drag of one more pivot and assume it means they haven’t found it yet, or worse, that something’s wrong with them. It’s data. Every offer that didn’t stick told you something true about what actually fits. 34 (say 34 one more fucking time, Katie…🤣) data points is a very expensive, very thorough research project you already paid for.

The 4 that made it share something the other 35 didn’t: they run on my actual rhythm instead of someone else’s. They let me initiate instead of maintain. They don’t ask me to show up the same way every week just to prove I’m serious.

If you’re sitting on your own version of this number, here’s what I’d actually do with it. Don’t use it to prove you’ve been flaky. Use it to see the shape of what already works, because it’s probably been sitting there the whole time, underneath everything you tried that wasn’t it.

Count what you’ve built, keep what fits, and stop treating the rest as a personal failure instead of what it actually was: the cost of finding out.

People will tell you it’s the funnel. Or the niche. Or the content. Or the energy. And sometimes those things are genuinely the problem. But if I had to name the one thing I see underneath almost every “my business isn’t moving” conversation I have, it’s this: the founder cannot tell me, in plain words, what she does and who changes because of it.

At least not in a polished way. Not in a way that lands. Not in a way that makes the person across from her lean in.

She can tell me what she offers. She can list the deliverables. She can show me the Canva deck she made at 11pm when she was excited about a rebrand. What she can’t do is distill it into something that sounds like her, describes the real work, and opens a conversation rather than closing one.

And because she can’t, she does one of two things.

Option A: She splits herself.

She makes three separate Instagram accounts. One for the coaching, one for the Human Design readings, one for the branding work she still does on the side. She tells herself it’s better to keep things separate so audiences don’t get confused. What actually happens is she triples her content burden, thins her own energy across three places, and none of the accounts ever builds enough momentum to attract anyone.

Option B: She piles.

She puts it all in one place but her introduction sounds like a comma separated course menu of skills. Her website reads like a Cheesecake Factory menu. Forty-seven things, equal weight, no clear door in. A prospective client lands on it and the internal experience is: okay, but which one is for me? That is a question nobody wants to work to answer. They click away.

Both of these are positioning problems. The fix isn’t a new funnel. It’s a movement statement.

What a movement statement is

A movement statement is not a mission statement. Mission statements are for stable companies at scale that need something vague enough for the whole org to fit under. You are not that. You are an evolving founder building a body of work, and your body of work is still moving.

A movement statement names the thing your whole body of work comes back to. The transformation you are here to create in the world, even as the offers shift and the containers change and the thing you are most excited about this year looks different from three years ago.

It is the through line. The thing that is true whether you are running a retreat or doing a one-on-one session or teaching a workshop. If you say it out loud, you should feel it in your chest. When you say it to someone else, they should either say “oh, that’s exactly what I need” or “I know exactly who needs that.” Both of those are a win.

Mine: I architect businesses based on the human behind them.

It took me years to land that. Not because I didn’t know what I was doing, but because I was so inside the work that I couldn’t see the through line. That is normal. It is also fixable.

Crafting a Movement Statement: The Rules

It should make you feel something when you say it. Not just sound good. Feel it in your body. If you feel nothing, it’s still in your head.

It should not start with “I help.” I help is a placeholder. It’s what you say when you don’t yet have the words for what you actually do. Keep going. And while we are at it…

I launched the blueprints last week. Did the thing, showed up, said the words, sent the emails. And then my body went: we’re done here.

I’ve been sleeping more than normal for over a week. My creative urge has been offline for just as long. And I’ve been doing that thing where I tell myself I’m resting, when really I’m hiding. The “rest” that’s actually hiding feels different in the body. Nothing restores. I know this. And yet…

Here’s my pattern, the one I’m actively working to break.

I create something. I get genuinely excited about it. I can already see where it’s going, what it’s becoming, the version of it that exists two iterations from now. And then I move on to building that next thing before I’ve told a single person the first thing exists.

There’s a scene in the Grinch where he says: “5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one.”

That is me. That has always been me. I blame it on my 1 Line in Human Design. This is the line of the researcher so nothing is ever actually “done” (which is also the line that makes me an expert in so many things so I guess it balances out?)

So this time I did the launch. Intentionally. Anchored into it as a practice, because I know I’m good at making things and still practicing the part where I actually let people know the things exist. And it felt good. I showed up. I said the thing. I meant it.

The blueprints I launched are something I’m genuinely proud of. I’m already watching them change how founders see their businesses, watching people move faster and more clearly than they were a week ago. The offer is real. The impact is real. I wanted to honor that by launching it like it mattered.

It cost me more than I expected.

The launch itself was a reasonable amount of work. I paced it well. But my body had a different read on what just happened.

More visibility. More exposure. More people seeing me at a size that’s bigger than my usual baseline. And somewhere underneath the logistics of it, my nervous system registered that as: we are out in the open, and we require more information before we feel okay about this.

I’ve been working on the visibility piece for a while. The part where being seen at a certain scale triggers something protective in the body that has nothing to do with whether the work is good or whether you’re ready. My body isn’t wrong to flag it. It’s doing its job. It’s just that the job it’s doing is protecting a version of me that has already outgrown that level of protection.

So I’ve been sleeping. A lot. My creative energy has been quiet. And I’ve been calling it rest, which is at least partially true, while also knowing there’s a hiding component I’m naming out loud right now.

I've also been carrying guilt about it.

The astro posts I skipped this month. The things I wanted to deliver sooner. The quiet voice that says people noticed, drew conclusions, felt let down.

That fear of letting people down is its own kind of weight. And I’ve been lugging it around on top of an already depleted body, which, as it turns out, is not a great recovery strategy.

Last night I did some somatic work with a ritual from Sam Schmuck’s VIBE Immersion. In one of the homework videos, she said something that stopped me.

A feeling only lasts 90 seconds. What we make of it lasts so much longer.

Ninety seconds. The actual feeling, in the body, without the story layered on top of it, is ninety seconds. Everything after that is the narrative I’m building around it. The meaning I’m making. The conclusions I’m drawing about what it says about me, my business, my readiness, my worth.

I’ve been at war with my body all week when I could have been in conversation with her. The feeling itself was never the problem. The story I kept writing about what the feeling meant, that’s where the week went.

So I vibed through it. Literally sat with the feeling, let it move, and came out the other side in under two minutes.

And I felt better.

I'm still tender. I'm still tired.

The blueprints are still out there. The people who received them are still moving. The work kept going while my creative urge went quiet for a week.

And I’m still here. Still working on the gap between what my brain wants to build and what my body is ready to hold. A little more honest than I planned to be on a Wednesday. But here.

But I'm not giving up on that relationship. The body-brain conversation is the work. It's the same work I help founders do inside their businesses, the friction between how they're wired and how they've been trying to operate. I'm just doing it in real time, out loud, with you.

Picture this…Monday morning and I’m on the floor of my kitchen, in my pajamas, before 9am, using a hatchet because I couldn’t find my hammer. 😫

Last week I destroyed my garbage disposal with artichoke leaves. I didn’t know artichoke fibers do this thing where they wrap themselves around the mechanical shaft until they’ve completely seized it. I do now.

I spent the better part of Sunday trying to fix it → Allen wrench, wooden spoon handle in the reset hole, every method the internet had to offer. Me and ChatGPT worked through the whole diagnostic together. It was still a goner. Wouldn’t budge.

So I ordered a replacement on Amazon at some ungodly hour, it arrived in the wee hours of Monday morning, and I woke up determined. Had it hooked up before most people had finished their first coffee. Ran the disposal. Beautiful. Done.

Then I turned on the dishwasher. My dad taught me that any time you do anything with plumbing, you check all the connections after. Suddenly I had a new water feature in my kitchen that I had not planned for.

Back under the sink. More questions for ChatGPT. Turns out when you connect a garbage disposal to a dishwasher line, there’s a plug inside the mechanism that has to be physically knocked out. Like pushed out with blunt force. Hence the hatchet. Hence the pajamas. Hence the 8:47am timestamp on what was shaping up to be a very full morning.

I got it sorted. The kitchen is dry. Everything is working.

Well, everything is working with my garbage disposal…

There is a specific kind of aloneness that comes with being a single woman who owns her home, where the audio help is available (thankful for my Dad being a phone call away) and the physical help isn’t. Where there’s no one to hand the hatchet to. Where every single thing that breaks lands in the same pile, and that pile has one name on it.

I’m the capable friend. I’m the one people call when something needs figuring out. And I’ve realized that being that person comes with a tax that nobody talks about: when you’re the capable one, people stop checking if you’re okay. They assume you’ve got it. And after a while, you start assuming the same thing about yourself.

You stop asking for help not because you don’t need it, but because needing it starts to feel like a betrayal of the thing everyone thinks you are.

My psychic development teacher told me something this week that landed harder than I expected. She said I’m an energy leaker → that my Cancer rising wires me to help, to give, to show up for people, and that I do it so naturally and so constantly that I’m often doing it at my own expense without even noticing. The drive to help isn’t something I choose in the moment. It’s just how I’m built. Which means the leak is always running.

I thought about that sitting on my kitchen floor, surrounded by towels, next to a dishwasher that had just flooded the room.

A literal leak. Because of course.

I don’t have this figured out.

I want to say that clearly before I go any further.

I’m still in it. The exhausting in-between of not knowing what to just do myself and what to hand to someone else. Not just at home. In my business too.

I could build my own Flodesk workflows. I have the technical fluency. Sixteen years in product and tech means I can figure out pretty much any tool you put in front of me. So the question of whether to outsource it becomes genuinely hard for me to answer because capability keeps getting in the way of clarity.

Can I do this? Yes. Should I? I genuinely don’t know.

And that uncertainty is its own kind of exhausting. Because when you can do everything, nothing has a natural home. Nothing obviously belongs to someone else. Every decision about where your energy goes has to be made consciously, from scratch, every time.

There’s no one looking over your shoulder noticing you’re stretched. There’s no system that catches it. There’s just you, adding one more thing to the pile, because you can, and because no one assumed you couldn’t, and because somewhere along the way you stopped assuming it too.

Capable people don’t get handed permission to stop.

I think about the women I work with and I see this pattern everywhere. The founder who built the whole tech stack herself because she came from engineering and it felt irresponsible to pay someone else. The one who does her own books because she understands numbers and hiring a bookkeeper feels like admitting she’s overwhelmed. The one who answers every client email personally because she’s good at communication and she hasn’t found a way to let that go without feeling like she’s losing something.

Capable people don’t get handed permission to stop. They have to take it.

And I’m not sure I know how to do that yet. Not fully. Not without the voice that says but you could just do it yourself getting loud in the background.

What I do know is this: the hatchet didn’t feel like competence that morning. It felt like evidence of something I haven’t solved yet. The gap between what I’m able to carry and what I should be carrying alone.

I’m still figuring out where that line is.

After you’ve tried to get ChatGPT to interpret your birth chart (spoiler: it doesn’t know astrology and it will confidently get it wrong). After you’ve paid for the reading with the astrologer or the Human Design expert who left you feeling seen and a little electrified. After you’ve found the line on an Instagram post or in a TikTok video that described you so accurately it felt like a violation.

You screenshot it. You maybe send it to your best friend. You save it somewhere you’ll definitely look at again…

And then you file it.

Because insight without infrastructure just becomes another thing you know about yourself that you haven’t figured out how to act on yet.

Here’s what breaks my heart about that: I see it happen constantly with people who are insanely talented. People who have something real to give, who are absolutely meant to be in a leadership role, who have ideas that deserve to exist in the world and they’re stuck. They’re implementing formulas and strategies that were never built for them. They’ve been trying to run themselves like someone else’s operating system and wondering why everything feels harder than it should.

The world is already full of enough resistance. Your business shouldn’t be adding to it.

The decision filter I didn't know I needed

Earlier this year I had to get honest about something: I was making reactive decisions.

Reactive in a quiet way. Evaluating every new opportunity fresh, with no written standard to run it against. A potential partnership here. An investment there. A collaboration that sounded exciting in the room. My Splenic authority would fire and I’d feel a yes, but I couldn’t always tell if it was a genuine body signal or just Aries Sun excitement filling the gap.

My Blueprint was explicit about this. Left Angle Cross of Steering means I am designed to see what belongs and what doesn’t, but only when I’m operating from my own clarity, not from other people’s momentum.

So I built a decision filter directly from my Blueprint language in the Energetic Watch Out section.

Specific tests:

• Does this generate personal profit before Q4?

• Does it require Generator-paced sustained output from a Manifestor?

• Does my body still say yes 48 hours after the room?

The filter didn’t change my instincts but it helped give me a way to trust them.

That’s what the Blueprint is supposed to do. Give you something real to come back to when the noise gets loud.

The watch-out that became a tracker

My Blueprint flagged overgiving and overcommitting as my primary energetic watch-outs. Cancer Rising, in case you were wondering (the person who creates safety for everyone before she remembers to create it for herself) 😫.

Reading that wasn’t news. I’ve known this about myself for years.

Catching it in real time is a completely different thing. Because overgiving doesn’t announce itself. It slides in under the name of being helpful, being generous, being the kind of person people can count on. By the time you notice the drain, you’ve already been leaking for hours.

So I built a simple energy leak tracker (I’m lovingly calling her Betty Bothered) to log when and where those patterns actually show up throughout my day. Overgive, overshare, people-please, over-explain, undercharge. Just a category, a quick note, a timestamp.

A few days of data gave me more specific insight into my own patterns than months of vague self-awareness ever did.

Turns out I leak most in the morning, before I’ve done my own initiating work. Turns out people-pleasing spikes mid-week when my energy starts to compress. Turns out “just being helpful” has a very specific time-of-day signature.

Having those things named gave me something to actually tackle head-on. A structural pattern to interrupt, and a place to start.

The offer architecture I stopped second-guessing

For a long time I was building my offer suite based on what felt logical. What a business coach should offer. What the funnel should look like.

My Blueprint was clear that this is exactly how Manifestors burn out. Responding to external frameworks instead of initiating from internal knowing.

The delivery model section told me something I needed to hear: I thrive in containers with a clear beginning, a defined scope, and a specific outcome. Open-ended, always-available, high-volume models are a structural mismatch. So I stopped building toward them.

The 1:1 Buildout container became invite-only. The invite is the signal. The Blueprint itself creates enough depth that the next step emerges on its own.

That was a design decision, built from what the Blueprint said about how I actually work.

What I want you to take from this

Alignment doesn’t happen from a one-time insight that gets buried in a folder.

It’s repeated, reinforced action over time.

It’s returning to the document when you’re about to make a big decision. It’s using the watch-outs section as an actual early warning system. It’s letting the delivery model guidance change how you structure your week, not just how you think about yourself.

Before I write anything else this week, I need you to hear something first.

I made a song.

I’m not usually one to follow trends but the “emo song from text/slack messages” has been SENDING me so I had to jump on it.

This was made in Suno and the lyrics are built entirely from feedback (via zoom and notion comments) I received from the first round of clients who went through this process. This is what they actually said about what it felt like to open and read their blueprint…and its kinda lit!🔥

The line that stays with me

“I thought I was broken. Turns out I was misaligned.”

OOF.

Too many people spend years telling themselves they’re broken. Undisciplined. Lacking follow-through or consistency or the right strategy or enough willpower or a better morning routine.

They’re just misaligned.

Operating a business built for someone else’s nervous system. Running on a framework designed for someone else’s energy type, decision-making process, creative rhythm, and leadership style. Doing everything right according to advice that was never calibrated for how they actually work.

And the thing that makes it so insidious is that the standard response to that feeling is to try harder. Add more strategy. Be more consistent. Show up more. Do more.

Which is exactly the wrong direction when the problem is the operating system underneath the business, not the effort going into it.

What the operating system actually is

Every business runs on three things underneath the strategy.

Embodiment. Whether your business actually reflects who you are right now. Your energy, your voice, your expression. Not who you were two years ago when you built the thing. Who you are now.

Sovereignty. Whether you are making decisions from your own instincts or from the accumulated weight of what you think you’re supposed to be doing. The shoulds. The best practices. The advice that works brilliantly for someone else and creates friction every time you try to apply it to yourself.

Structure. Whether your offers, systems, and processes actually support how you naturally work. Or whether you are constantly trying to manage a business that was architected for someone else’s rhythm.

When one of these is off, you feel it everywhere. The marketing feels heavy. The sales feel forced. The delivery feels draining. The whole thing feels like something you are pushing uphill instead of something that moves with you.

When all three are aligned, the texture changes completely because the work finally fits.

What I keep seeing underneath the burnout

A Projector trying to work Generator hours because her business model requires it. Exhausted, invisible, wondering why she can’t seem to keep up with founders who have half her insight and twice her output. The fix wasn’t a better schedule. It was a business model that honored the fact that she is here to guide the work, not execute it.

A Manifesting Generator who spent years calling herself undisciplined for starting things and not finishing them. What was actually happening: her energy is built for movement, iteration, momentum. Linear consistency is not her design. The fix wasn’t more willpower. It was building systems that support momentum instead of punishing her for having it.

A founder who dreaded every piece of content she made for Instagram. Thought she just wasn’t good at it. What her chart revealed: she is a long-form depth creator. A stage, an essay, a long conversation → that is where her work lives. Instagram is the billboard, not the source. The fix wasn’t a content strategy. It was understanding where her creative source actually lives and letting everything else point toward it.

Different problems. Same pattern. An operating system running on the wrong settings.

The question underneath the question

Most business advice starts with: what should you do?

The question I start with is: how are you actually designed to operate?

Because the answer to the first question is useless without the answer to the second.

Strategy built on top of misalignment just creates more sophisticated friction.

When you know how you are designed to think, lead, build, and grow, the strategy becomes obvious. The platforms become obvious. The offer structure becomes obvious. The sales process becomes obvious. The weekly rhythm becomes obvious.

Because you finally have the right map!

People would come to me with completely different problems. Burnout. Marketing that felt heavy. Offers that weren’t converting. Businesses that felt chaotic behind the scenes.

And on the surface, all of those looked like completely different issues.

But underneath them, I kept seeing the same pattern.

It wasn’t a strategy problem. It was a misalignment problem!

A mismatch between how they were operating and how their business was actually structured. People trying to run businesses that didn’t match their energy. Forcing systems that were never designed for them in the first place.

And once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it.

The operating system underneath your business

Here’s the metaphor I keep coming back to.

Think about your phone. The hardware updates over time — new model, new look. But the operating system is what actually determines how everything runs. What’s native to it. What creates friction. What features are new and shiy vs tried and true. What drains the battery faster than it should.

Your business runs the same way.

And that operating system is made up of three things that run across all areas of your business from marketing to offers.

Embodiment. How you show up. Your energy, your voice, your expression. Whether your business actually reflects who you are right now or a version of you from two years ago.

Sovereignty. How you lead. Your decisions, your boundaries, your standards. Whether you’re building from your own instincts or from what you think you’re supposed to be doing.

Structure. What holds everything together. Your offers, your systems, your processes. Whether your business can actually support you or whether it’s something you’re constantly trying to manage.

When one of these is off, the whole system feels it.

When all three are aligned, your business feels very different. Clear. Supportive. Sustainable. Like something that works with you instead of something you’re constantly trying to force.

What this looks like in real life

A client came to me and said: “I feel overwhelmed. I’m stuck in the day-to-day. I don’t have time to focus on the bigger vision.”

On the surface that sounds like a time management problem. A productivity problem. Maybe a systems problem.

But when we looked at her design, she’s a Projector. She’s not here to run the machine. She’s here to see it, guide it, direct it. Her embodiment was off! She was performing like a Generator by trying to do everything herself all day e’ryday. And her structure was off…her business required her to stay in execution instead of supporting her natural role as a visionary.

The fix wasn’t a better calendar. It was redesigning her business around how she’s actually built to operate. The first step? Taking any repeatable thing that was on her todo list and automating it. You can’t work ON your business if you are stuck working IN it.

Another client: “I keep starting things and not finishing them. I just need to be more consistent.”

What she thought was happening: lack of discipline. What was actually happening: her energy is built for movement, iteration, momentum. She’s a Manifesting Generator but she was forcing herself into linear consistency. She needs to build in ways that she gets feedback because that fuels the next iteration. No amount of pep talks in the world could help a Mani-Gen build something completely in isolation to be then sold async forever. The reframe wasn’t “be more disciplined.” It was “build for movement, not repetition.”

Same presenting problem (“lack of discipline”). Completely different root cause. Completely different solution.

That’s what happens when you diagnose the operating system instead of just fixing the symptom.

Run your own diagnostic

Three questions. Sit with each one.

Embodiment: Does your business actually reflect who you are right now, or a version of you from two years ago?

Sovereignty: Are you making decisions from your own instincts, or from outside expectations and what you think you should be doing?

Structure: Do your offers and systems support how you naturally work, or are you constantly forcing them?

If something came up for you, that’s information. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BURN EVERYTHING TO THE GROUND. It’s information so let it soak in first.

The question isn’t how do I fix all of this right now. The question is: what’s the one quarter teaspoon I can take toward the five gallon bucket I’m building?

Alignment happens through lots of little actions that compound.

There’s a specific kind of lonely that comes with building something that doesn’t have a name yet.

Not the lonely of being misunderstood (though that’s definitely part of it). More like the lonely of standing in a room full of people doing recognizable things and holding something in your hands that you can’t quite describe yet, even to yourself.

That was me about two and half years ago. Calling myself a business astrologer. Making slide decks. Booking chart readings. Doing the thing that made logical sense given what I knew and what I could offer.

And quietly, slowly, feeling like I was wearing shoes that were two sizes too small.

The readings weren’t bad. They were actually pretty good.

I’d pull someone’s chart, walk them through their vocational placements, show them what their career path could look like based on their design. People left with information. Real information. The kind that takes time to integrate.

But then they’d disappear.

And I’d sit there thinking…okay.

I didn’t have an answer for that yet. Or rather, I had the answer but I hadn’t built the container for it. So I kept booking readings. Kept making slide decks. Kept doing the thing that felt like a fraction of what I was actually capable of.

The other thing that was happening (and this one stung more than I expected) was the way people responded when I introduced myself.

I’m a business astrologer.

And almost every time: oh fun, can you guess my sign?

I want you to sit with that for a second.

You wouldn’t meet an accountant at a dinner party and say oh fun, can you guess what my tax return looks like this year. You wouldn’t meet an architect and ask them to guess your floor plan. But say the word astrologer and suddenly you’re a party trick. A novelty. Something people are delighted by but don’t take seriously.

I had been a VP at a major media company. My resume covered sixteen years of building things, globally, at scale. I had skills that most people in my space couldn’t access. And I was introducing myself in a way that made people want to know their rising sign.

It wasn’t about ego. It was about the gap between what I was actually doing and what the label allowed people to see.

The shift to embodiment architect didn’t happen overnight.

There were a few identity deaths along the way → names I tried on and discarded, versions of the work that were closer but still not quite right.

What I was looking for was a way to say: “I am not here to read your chart. I am here to architect your business around what your chart reveals about you.” Those are completely different things.

A reading gives you information.

What I do gives you a blueprint.

And the blueprint isn’t mine! It’s yours. Built from your Human Design, your astrology, the specific way you’re wired to lead and market and sell and create. I’m just the person who knows how to read the materials and draw the plans.

As soon as I started saying that — as soon as I stopped apologizing for the depth of what I actually do — something shifted. The right people started finding me. Not people who wanted their chart read at a dinner party. People who were building schools for psychics. Who were combining channeling with creative direction for photo shoots. Who were creating wellness-business-coworking hybrids that had no direct competitors because nothing like them existed yet.

Trailblazers. People doing things that don’t have a category.

People who felt, quietly, like they might be a little bit crazy for trying.

Here’s what I want to say to those people. To you, if that’s you.

You are not crazy. You are just early.

And the reason the standard frameworks don’t work for you is NOT because you’re doing it wrong. It’s because those frameworks were built for businesses that already have a map. You are making the map. You don’t get to use someone else’s directions. Sorry not sorry.

The lonely feeling:

• the one that comes from not being able to find a competitor to benchmark against

• from not being able to point to someone who has done exactly what you’re doing

That feeling is not a warning sign. It’s a signal. It means you’re building something that actually needs to exist.

I know because I’ve been there. I am still there in some ways. I have under a thousand followers on insta. I’m launching offers that don’t fit neatly into any existing category. I’m growing 200% year over year not because I found the right content strategy but because I stopped trying to fit my business into shoes that were never made for my feet.

The work isn’t finding your category.

The work is building a business so aligned with who you actually are that the category becomes obvious eventually…because you made it.

That’s what I help people do.

One thing I think happens when you stop obsessing over strategy all the time is that you actually get your time back.

And I don’t mean in some magical “work four hours a week” kind of way. I mean that when you’re not constantly trying to decode someone else’s funnel, content cadence, sales framework, or “what’s working right now,” you suddenly have way more capacity to pay attention to your actual business.

Your actual people.
Your actual clients.
The actual experience of being in your world.

And honestly, I think that matters a lot more than people give it credit for.

Because some of the best things I do in my business are not the loudest things. They’re not always the things that would make a flashy Instagram carousel. They’re the quieter decisions that make people feel really taken care of once they’re already in proximity to me.

That’s what I think of as white glove service.

Not in a stuffy or overly polished way. More in a “you can tell I actually thought about what this would feel like on your end” kind of way.

Like if I’m sending an email, I want the subject line to be easy to find later. If it’s a proposal, I’m going to actually say proposal in the subject line, even if I make the rest of it more fun. If it’s an event invite, I want it to still feel exciting, but I also want someone to be able to type “invite” or the event name into their inbox later and pull it up without digging through chaos.

That’s white glove to me.

If I’m reviewing something for a client or teaching them how to use a system, I’ll often record a Loom because I know that’s easier than sending six paragraphs of explanation. It gives them the walkthrough, it gives them context, and it gives them a place to ask questions without needing to schedule another call.

That’s white glove to me too, and it doesn’t stop at just explaining something clearly.

It also looks like teaching and delivering things in more than one format. Because people don’t all absorb information the same way. Some people need to hear it. Some need to read it. Some need to see it mapped visually. Some need a checklist, a table, a chart, or an actual example they can reference while they’re doing the thing.

So if I’m walking someone through something, I’m usually thinking about how to make it easier to actually take in and easier to implement. That might mean a Loom with written instructions underneath. It might mean breaking something into sections with clear headers, visual hierarchy, or simple formatting that makes it easier to scan later. It might mean giving them a Canva template they can actually use, or a Notion page they can duplicate instead of expecting them to build it from scratch after the call.

Accessibility matters here too. Captions, clear formatting, and multiple entry points into the same information are all part of the experience.

To me, that’s white glove too. Not just delivering the insight, but making it easier to receive and actually do something with once it lands.

If we’re on a call and making decisions, I’m not expecting them to also be frantically taking notes while trying to stay present. I’m capturing what we’re deciding in real time. I’m organizing action items. I’m documenting what matters so they can stay in the conversation instead of trying to become their own project manager mid-session.

That’s also white glove.

And none of this is particularly glamorous, which is maybe why people don’t talk about it enough. But I think this is actually a huge part of what makes a business feel really good to be inside of.

A lot of people are spending so much time trying to get more eyes on their business that they’re not putting enough intention into what happens when someone actually enters it.

And to me, that’s the whole game.

Because yes, obviously, you need attention. You need visibility. You need people to know you exist. But if all of your energy is going toward attracting and none of it is going toward care, clarity, thoughtfulness, and actual support, people can feel that too.

So when I think about white glove service, I’m really thinking about the entire relationship someone has with your business, from the first moment they come across you all the way through working with you, finishing with you, and ideally staying connected to your world afterward.

There are seasons of life where everything feels like it’s being pulled into sharper contrast.

That’s what this season feels like for me.

Maybe it’s the Saturn-Neptune tension in the air right now. The push-pull between structure and fog. What’s real and what’s imagined. What’s solid and what’s dissolving. But lately, I’ve been feeling the shifts in my body before I can even fully name them with words.

At Soulward Summit, I found myself in the middle of an activation called Therapaint, processing an emotion I didn’t realize I was still carrying so viscerally: the clawing feeling of being projected onto.

Not just misunderstood. Not just unseen. But that deeper, more invasive feeling of being grabbed at energetically. Interpreted. Pulled on. Reduced into someone else’s version of who you are.

We were outside on the lawn, splattering paint against paper, moving emotion through the body. And at some point, I stopped painting.

I dropped to my knees.

And I started clawing at the paper.

Hard enough that my press-on nails tore through the gloves I was wearing. You could see the marks in the paper after. The physical evidence of something I had clearly been carrying for a long time.

And as intense as that moment was, what struck me most was what happened after.

Because the very next day, I was in a completely different kind of room.

A VIP integration day where I felt deeply held. Witnessed. Received. I was gifted a card that said:

What I want, I can achieve.

And it hit me that this is what life has been showing me lately in such an undeniable way: the contrast between rooms that hook you and rooms that hold you.

The difference between being projected onto and being fully witnessed.

And once you feel that contrast in your body, it becomes almost impossible to ignore.

The world is showing me contrast right now. Deep contrast. Between the rooms where I feel projected onto and the rooms where I feel deeply seen and held.

And honestly, I think this is one of the clearest ways I’ve ever understood what visibility actually asks of us.

Because for a long time, I thought the goal was simply to be seen. But being seen is not the same thing as being met.

To be truly seen is to be witnessed. To be heard is to be received. But to be projected onto is to become a screen for someone else’s fear, assumptions, discomfort, insecurity, and need to categorize what they don’t fully understand.

And when you’ve spent a lot of your life feeling unworthy of being fully considered, that distinction matters. A lot.

Some rooms hold you. Some rooms hook you.

There are rooms where people are with you. Where you feel safe, honest, received, and held in your full humanity.

And then there are rooms where you can feel the energy trying to grab onto you. Interpret you. Reduce you. Place you. Pull meaning out of you that was never yours to carry.

That’s the energy I’ve been thinking about lately.

The clawing energy of projection.

And once you’ve felt the difference in your body, it becomes very hard to unsee.

What’s been shifting

Recently, I’ve been doing some deeper release work (hello Cord Cutting with Marguerite! ) around smallness and around a very specific wound:

the feeling of being unworthy of being considered.

Not just misunderstood. Not just overlooked.

But the deeper, subtler feeling of people deciding who you are, what you mean, or how they want to hold you without actually taking the time to meet you.

That’s a very particular kind of pain.

And when you start releasing it, something changes. You become much more sensitive to the difference between being witnessed and being projected onto.

You notice which spaces feel spacious. Which ones feel grabby. Which ones feel like truth. And which ones feel like someone trying to fit you into a script they already wrote.

That’s what’s been getting louder for me lately.

Soulward Summit gave me a body-level reference point

One of the clearest examples of this for me has been Soulward Summit. Not just the event itself, though that was absolutely the highest and biggest expression of it. But everything that kept living after it.

The voice memo conversations across time zones that somehow already carry more depth than some connections I’ve had for years. The side texts. The group chats.

The names of the chats alone telling on the energy: HOT GIRL FNDRS 🔥💖. Super Yacht WhatsApp.

You can tell a lot about a room by what people feel safe enough to name inside it. That matters to me. Because those spaces don’t just feel “safe” in the way people often talk about safety online. They feel alive. They feel playful. Honest. Unforced. Like people actually getting to be themselves in real time.

No clawing. No flattening. No weird energetic undertow of projection.

Just resonance. Just chemistry. Just the kind of connection that keeps unfolding because something true was opened.

And once you feel that kind of room in your body, it becomes almost impossible to keep romanticizing the ones that only ever asked you to shrink.

That contrast has been hitting me hard lately.

Because once you remember what it feels like to be in rooms where people are genuinely with you, it becomes a lot harder to normalize spaces where people are just trying to make meaning out of you.

This has everything to do with visibility

Because here’s what I’m realizing:

A lot of women think they have a visibility problem. But often, what they actually have is a projection wound.

They’ve spent so long trying to protect themselves from being misunderstood, misread, flattened, or reduced that they unconsciously start shaping their expression around avoiding distortion.

And that changes everything. It changes how you write, how you sell, how you explain your work, and how much of yourself you allow people to actually encounter.

I felt this so deeply recently during a marketing masterclass inside Authentic Business Club.

There was a conversation around context. How much context does someone need to understand your work? How do you create a smaller freebie or offer that still “makes sense”? How do you help people access your work without the full backstory?

And I realized how much of my own history lives inside that question.

Because for so many years, I was trying to make my work make sense to people who were never actually entering it through resonance. I was trying to pre-explain myself into safety. Trying to translate something potent into something instantly digestible. Trying to remove any edge that might make someone misunderstand me. And in the process, I watered down what I was actually here to say.

The hidden cost of trying to be understood by everyone

There is absolutely a place for context.

But there is also a point where context stops being clarity and starts becoming self-protection.

That line is everything.

Because when you’re still trying to earn the right to be fully considered, you will over-explain, over-contextualize, over-soften, over-qualify, and over-package your truth until it loses its original charge.

Not because your work isn’t clear.

But because some part of you is still trying to create immunity from projection.

And that’s not possible.

Not in leadership. Not in visibility. Not in art. Not in business. At a certain point, your work has to be willing to stand on its own feet. Not because everyone will understand it immediately. But because it is true enough to hold.

The projection field

The more visible you become, the more you enter what I think of as the projection field.

This is the space where people stop simply receiving you and start filtering you through their assumptions, their discomfort, their insecurities, and their need to categorize what they don’t fully understand.

And if you don’t understand this, you will spend a lot of energy trying to become more “accurate” to people who were never actually seeing you clearly to begin with.

That’s where women start shrinking.

That’s where they start softening their voice, making their work more palatable, and editing out the parts that carry the deepest charge.

Projection can feel like danger if your body still associates being misunderstood with losing belonging.

A quick Human Design note, because it matters

In Human Design, the projection field has a more specific meaning.

It’s especially relevant for people with 2-line and 5-line profile, where others tend to see not just you, but what they imagine you are here to do for them.

If you carry 2-line energy, you may notice that people naturally “call out” gifts in you before you even feel fully ready to name them yourself.

That can be beautiful when it comes from the right people and the right timing.

But when it comes from the wrong rooms, it can feel like pressure, depletion, being pulled into roles you never consciously chose, or being seen for a talent without actually being met.

Sometimes what looks like recognition is just projection with good branding.

If you carry 5-line energy, this can feel even more intense. Because 5-line projection often comes with people seeing you as the answer, the fix, the disruptor, or the one who can save, solve, or restore order.

Which sounds powerful until you realize how often that means people are relating to a role instead of a real person.

That’s the trap. You become deeply visible, but not necessarily deeply known.

And that’s where discernment becomes everything.

And even if you don’t have a 2 or 5 line in your profile, I still think the broader conversation matters.

Because in practice, anyone who is highly visible, deeply expressive, naturally magnetic, or building something outside the usual script will encounter projection.

Especially trailblazers.

Especially women who are no longer willing to be legible only through other people’s comfort.

So what do you actually do with this?

If you’ve been reading this and recognizing yourself in it, the answer isn’t to try to eliminate projection.

You can’t.

Not if you want to be visible. Not if you want to lead. Not if you’re doing anything that exists outside of what’s already been approved or understood.

Projection is part of the terrain.

Especially if you are building something that doesn’t have a clear reference point, expressing yourself in a way that isn’t easily categorized, or moving in a way that challenges what people have been taught is “normal.”

In other words:

If you’re a trailblazer, you are going to be projected onto.

That doesn’t mean something has gone wrong.

It means you’ve stepped outside of the script.

1. Anchor back into your inherent value

Before anything else, this is the foundation:

• You are not valuable because you are understood.

• You are not worthy because you are correctly interpreted.

• You are inherently valuable in who you are and in the magic you bring by existing as yourself.

Projection doesn’t change that. Misinterpretation doesn’t remove that. Someone else’s story about you doesn’t define that. If anything, this work is about returning to that baseline over and over again.

2. Learn to identify whether you’re being met or being cast

This is such an important distinction.

Ask yourself:

• Do I feel nourished by this room, or depleted by it?

• Am I being met, or am I being cast?

• Is this recognition, or is this expectation?

• Is this a space where I can stay whole, or one where I immediately start editing myself?

Because once you start asking better questions, you stop taking every energetic experience at face value. And that changes a lot.

3. Stop organizing your expression around avoiding projection

This is where so much of the energy leak happens. Trying to say it perfectly, explain it enough, soften it just right, or add enough context to prevent misunderstanding.

But what’s actually happening underneath that is this:

you’re trying to create safety through control of perception.

And that will dilute your work every time.

Instead, the shift is simple:

Let your work be clear.

Let it be true.

Let it carry its full charge.

And allow people to meet it from where they are.

Not everyone will.

And that’s okay.

4. Build and choose the right rooms

This is the part we don’t talk about enough. It’s not just about tolerating projection. It’s also about becoming more available for spaces where you are actually witnessed.

Where you don’t have to translate yourself constantly. Where you’re not being flattened into something more digestible. Where your nuance is allowed to exist. Where your presence is met, not managed. Those rooms exist.

And once you experience them, your standards change. You stop trying to be for every room. You start building and choosing the right ones.

Final reframe

A lot of what feels like a visibility problem is actually a threshold of self-trust.

Not:

Can I be seen?

But:

Can I remain rooted in who I am even when I am being interpreted?

Because once you can do that, projection stops being something you organize your life around. It becomes something you notice without collapsing for. And that’s when your work starts to land differently.

You stop trying to be for every room. You start building the ones that can actually hold you.

I was sitting around a bonfire after Soulward Summit (a conference I co-hosted) surrounded by women I trust, when I said something out loud that I think I’m still learning how to live with:

I’m the villain in a lot of people’s stories.

Not because I’ve never gotten it wrong. I have. There are friendships and relationships where I can look back and say, yeah, I could’ve handled that differently. I’m not interested in pretending I’ve moved through life without impact. I care deeply about how I affect people. Sometimes, probably to a fault.

I’m the kind of person who, if I’m driving and my friend in the passenger seat has a wonky back, I’ll literally make sure the tires on my side of the car go over the speed bump instead of hers.

That is how I move through relationships.

I am thinking about your comfort.
Your bandwidth.
Your feelings.
Your context.
The invisible thing you’re carrying that maybe no one else would notice.

And I think that’s why this particular kind of grief has been so hard to name.

Because underneath all of the conflict, the projection, the misunderstandings, the “I never meant it that way” conversations, the thing that hurts most is actually very simple:

I am deeply considerate. And I do not feel deeply considered.

That’s the wound.

And lately, it’s been impossible to ignore.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve found myself tracing a pattern that honestly stretches back years.

Different people.
Different circumstances.
Same ache.

A friend sends something inflammatory to someone close to me, gets called out, and instead of taking it up with the person who set the boundary, routes the whole thing through me → during one of the biggest, most important weekends of my life.

Another friend, someone I thought was one of my closest people, can’t seem to answer a simple logistical question I’ve been asking for over a week about whether she has the capacity to show up for something that matters deeply to me. I gave her an out. I made room. I made it easy. “If you don’t have the bandwidth, that’s okay. I just need to know.” And instead of a clear answer, I got delay, ambiguity, emotional flooding, and a whole lot of context in place of clarity.

And then there are the older stories.

The friendships where I could feel something had shifted, but no one said anything. So I was the one who opened the door. I was the one who said, Hey, if something’s off, let’s talk about it. Only to find out they had apparently been hurt by me for months or years…and by the time they finally brought it to me…

They weren’t asking for repair.

They were presenting a case.

That part is brutal.

Because when someone has been privately building a story about you for long enough, your actual intentions and sometimes even your actual behavior become almost irrelevant.

You’re no longer in a conversation.
You’re in a courtroom.

And I think that’s why some of these dynamics have felt so impossible to heal.

Not because I wasn’t willing, but because by the time I got there, I wasn’t being met as a person anymore.

I was being met as a symbol.

That’s the part I’ve been trying to understand.

Because I don’t actually think I’ve been the villain in all of these stories.

But I do think I’ve often been the mirror.

And there’s a difference.

A mirror doesn’t create what’s there.
It reflects it back.

I’m starting to realize that in some relationships, what people were reacting to wasn’t necessarily me. It was what got stirred up in them around me.

Their insecurity.
Their resentment.
Their unspoken expectations.
Their disappointment.
Their fear of not being chosen.
Their discomfort with my boundaries.
Their discomfort with my capacity changing.

That last one has hit especially hard.

Because when I zoom out, one of the clearest patterns I can see is this:

People are often very comfortable receiving my capacity. They struggle when that capacity changes.

And that has been one of the most painful things to admit.

Because I have been a person with a lot of capacity.

I’m the one who checks in.
The one who organizes.
The one who remembers.
The one who follows up.
The one who notices when something’s off.
The one who makes the plan, builds the room, carries the emotional context, softens the edges, keeps things moving.

I know how to hold a lot.

But the older I get, the more I’m realizing that some people didn’t actually know how to relate to me.

They knew how to relate to what I provided.

And the moment I stopped over-functioning because I was under-resourced, heartbroken, burned out, leading something big, or simply trying to choose myself for once, the relationship got exposed.

That’s not an easy thing to say out loud. But it’s true.

There was a season of my life, after I was laid off from Twitter, in the uncertainty of my new direction but certain of what I didn’t want to continue, when I was not okay. There were so many unknowns (financially, emotionally, etc) but that’s a story for a different day.

I was depleted in a way that changed my availability. Not in a dramatic, “I’m disappearing and ghosting everyone” way. In a very adult, very human way. I was honest about it. I said, I don’t have the same capacity right now.

And what I learned in that season was heartbreaking.

Because some people who I had shown up for through divorces, miscarriages, breakdowns, spirals, life implosions, all of it…did not know how to stay in relationship with me when I was no longer able to provide that same level of access and emotional labor back.

They didn’t say, “Hey, I miss you. This feels different. I’m having a hard time with the shift.”

Instead, I became “cold”. Distant. Different. The problem.

That’s what I mean when I say I think I’ve been miscast.

Not always misunderstood.
Miscast.

There’s a difference between someone not fully getting you and someone assigning you a role in their story that has very little to do with who you actually are.

And if you’ve ever experienced that, you know how disorienting it can be.

Because it makes you question everything.

Was I selfish?
Was I too blunt?
Was I not supportive enough?
Was I too much?
Was I too unavailable?
Too focused on myself?
Too harsh for naming what was true?

I have spent years trying to answer those questions responsibly.

Not performatively. But genuinely.

I’ve been in the “I’m the common denominator, so I must be the problem” spiral.

I have spent more money on therapy around friendship wounds than I’d care to admit. I’ve done conflict work. Communication work. Attachment work. Nervous system work. Repair work. I have tried, over and over again, to become a safer, clearer, more emotionally responsible person to be in relationship with.

And while that work has mattered deeply, here’s what I’m also realizing:

No amount of self-work can protect you from being miscast by people who rely on your over-functioning.

There are some dynamics where no amount of your insight, accountability, softness, or skill will ever be enough. The role you’re being asked to play was never actually about truth.

It was about comfort.
Access.
Control.
Convenience.
A version of you that was easier to consume. And when you stop being that version, people who benefited from it don’t always know what to do.

I also want to say something that feels important here.

I know enough about myself to understand that I naturally hold a bit of a projection field (5/1 Manifestor 🙋‍♀️). People often don’t just relate to who I am. They relate to what they assume, expect, fear, need, or assign onto me. That’s real. I could write a whole separate piece about that and I will.

But what I’m more interested in here is what it feels like to live inside that dynamic in actual relationships.

To be someone who is often experienced as “strong” and still feel profoundly unsupported.

To be the one who sees everyone’s context and still feel like no one can clock the moment you’re in.

To be hosting one of the biggest events of your life and find yourself fielding emotional shrapnel from people who, if the roles were reversed, you would have gone out of your way not to burden.

To make room.
To make it easy.
To make the path clear.
And still be met with fog.

That’s the part I think a lot of us don’t talk about.

Because it’s one thing to say, I’ve been hurt.

It’s another thing to admit:

I’m grieving the realization that some of the people closest to me could not rise to the moments that mattered to me.

That’s what has been cracking something open in me.

Not just the conflict itself.

The timing.
The attunement.
The lack of regard.

Because when you are someone who is constantly accounting for other people’s context, it hurts in a very specific way when they cannot seem to account for yours.

It’s not just what happened.

It’s when it happened.

And that reveals more than I think we want to admit.

What made this impossible to ignore wasn’t just the pattern.

It was the contrast.

I got one of those texts during the conference (15 min after getting off stage to kick off the whole thing), while I was literally in a room I had built, surrounded by 40 women (and one supportive king) who saw me clearly, who weren’t projecting onto me, who weren’t asking me to distort myself to be digestible.

And I remember looking up from my phone, taking it all in, and realizing something I don’t think I could’ve seen as clearly anywhere else:

I am not too much. I am just no longer available for relationships that require me to become less myself in order to maintain them.

That same day, the speaker on stage asked:

Where is your energy leaking? What are you ready to release?

And without overthinking it, I wrote down:

“Maintaining relationships at all costs.”

That’s what I’ve been doing.

Holding on.
Explaining.
Bridging.
Softening.
Trying to preserve connection even after something essential had already left the room.

And being in a space where I didn’t have to do that, where I was seen clearly without effort, made it impossible to keep negotiating with relationships that required me to.

And if there’s one thing I’m walking away from Soulward Summit with, it’s this:

There are rooms where you do not have to earn your belonging by over-functioning.

There are rooms where your muchness is not a problem to solve.
Where your sensitivity is not a burden.
Where your truth doesn’t need to be diluted to be received.
Where your presence is not just tolerated, but deeply welcomed.

And maybe that’s the real grief in all of this.

Not just seeing what no longer fits.

But finally experiencing what does.

Because once you’ve been in a room where you feel:
seen,
heard,
held,
expanded,
and met…

it becomes a lot harder to keep bargaining with relationships that require self-abandonment to maintain.

That’s the power of community.

Not just being surrounded by people.

But being surrounded by the right people.

People with heart.
People with capacity.
People who can celebrate you without resenting you.
People who can meet your humanity without projecting onto it.
People who don’t need you to become smaller in order to stay connected.

That’s the kind of room I want to keep building.

Not just for myself.
But for the women who have spent years wondering if they are too much, too intense, too honest, too sensitive, too hard to hold.

You’re not.

You may have just been trying to bloom in places that could only tolerate your pruning.

Not physically loud, necessarily…information loud. Advice loud. Opinion loud. Every corner of the internet has a framework, a blueprint, a step-by-step system that promises to show you the “right” way to do something. Five ways to make six figures. Ten steps to grow your Substack. The exact routine every successful founder supposedly follows before 7 a.m.

Scroll long enough and you’ll find someone confidently explaining the exact opposite of the thing you just read.

It’s overwhelming in a way that didn’t exist even a generation ago. Today we absorb more information in a single day than someone living a few centuries ago would have encountered in their entire lifetime. When you think about that, it becomes obvious that clarity isn’t just about making better decisions anymore.

It’s about filtering signal from noise.

And if you don’t have a strong internal signal, the noise will make decisions for you.

When the Life You Built Stops Making Sense

For a lot of people, the first crack in the system shows up around their Saturn return.

Somewhere around your late twenties or early thirties, the life you carefully constructed begins to feel strangely misaligned. On paper, everything might look correct. You followed the rules. You made the responsible choices. You built something that made sense according to the models you were given.

And yet something inside you quietly starts asking a different question:

Is this actually mine?

Because when you look closely, many of the decisions that shaped your life weren’t consciously chosen. They were inherited. Stories you absorbed about what success looks like. Stories about adulthood, money, relationships, career paths, and stability. Expectations that came from parents, teachers, culture, and the invisible rules of whatever environment you grew up in.

For many women especially, there was never a clear blueprint for living an independent, self-directed life. Our mothers often didn’t have that option in the same way we do now, and our grandmothers certainly didn’t. The examples of women designing their own lives…

…were usually distant figures we saw in media or admired from afar. They weren’t models we witnessed up close.

So we inherited structures built for a completely different reality. And eventually there comes a moment when you realize that the life you designed was built using an outdated map.

I have written more mission statements than I can count.

Corporate America.
Side hustles.
Startups.
Rebrands.

Every time I started something new, I followed the same business plan rubric like it was gospel: executive summary, market analysis, competitive landscape, mission statement, vision statement. I knew the formula. I could fill in the blanks in my sleep.

And every single time, I wanted to pull my hair out. The effort it takes to clarify and compile into that type of document is not small. It’s a huge hurdle and then, in my eyes, equally as big of a let-down.

Not because it was wrong.
Not because it wasn’t strategic.
But because it didn’t feel alive.

I would write one, feel vaguely uninspired, tweak it, rewrite it, polish it, then either:

1. Change it again six months later (ever keep rewriting your mission statement and business vision only to never share it with anyone? 🙋‍♀️)

2. Never look at it again

And if I’m honest, I was rewriting it because I was changing. My work was expanding. My interests were deepening. My leadership was evolving.

The document wasn’t wrong. It just wasn’t built for someone like me.

And it probably isn’t built for someone like you either.

Mission & Vision Were Built for Static Companies

Mission statements explain what a company does and how it operates right now. Vision statements describe where it’s going and what it hopes to achieve long term. They’re useful tools inside organizations that need alignment across departments and predictable trajectories.

Lets break this down a bit more, shall we?

A mission statement explains:

• What the company does

• Who it serves

• How it operates right now

It’s functional. It’s operational. It’s meant to describe current activity. It’s usually vague. Mission statements are excellent for organizations that need consistency and alignment across large teams.

Nike: To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world. *If you have a body, you are an athlete.

A vision statement describes:

• Where the company is going

• What it hopes to achieve long-term

It’s future-oriented. It’s aspirational.

But it’s still directional in a linear way. Vision statements assume a fairly predictable trajectory.

Coca-Cola: Our vision is to craft the brands and choice of drinks that people love, to refresh them in body & spirit. And done in ways that create a more sustainable business and better shared future that makes a difference in people’s lives, communities and our planet.

They assume stability.
They assume structure.
They assume that the “company” exists independently from the human leading it.

But when you are the business, the brand, and the strategy, when your work evolves as you evolve, that model starts to break.

Because you’re not building a static company.

You’re building a living ecosystem.

And ecosystems don’t operate in five-year linear projections. They grow, expand, contract, regenerate. They respond to seasons. They adapt to new inputs. They reorganize when something new wants to emerge.

Every time I tried to force my work into a mission statement, it felt like I was trying to pin a butterfly to a corkboard.

Technically accurate. Completely lifeless.

The most frustrating part is that you DO need clarity before starting a business. While you can build a business willy-nilly, it’s certainly going to be harder, slower and most likely cost you a lot more.

The Question That Changed Everything

So whats a girly to do? If you’re someone who creates magic across multiple disciplines it can be so easy to default to just listing all the things you DO instead of what your business is actually meant to impact. Here was my turning point:

Instead of asking,
“What is my mission?”

I started asking,
“What is the shift I am here to create?”

Not what I sell.
Not what platform I use.
Not what my current offer suite looks like.

But what changes because I exist.

That’s where movement statements were born.

A movement statement doesn’t describe your services. It names your stand. It articulates what you believe needs to change and the larger shift your work contributes to. It’s less about what you do and more about what becomes possible when you do it.

A movement statement articulates:

• What you believe needs to change

• What you’re here to disrupt or restore

• The larger shift your work contributes to

It’s not about what you do. It’s about what changes because you exist.

Think of this like a rally cry behind what you do that is designed to connect with people who resonate with it. I took the liberty of writing some for the two companies I referenced above to show how it FEELS different.

Nike Movement Statement (hypothetical): Human potential isn’t reserved for the elite. Movement belongs to everyone, and the world changes when people reclaim their bodies as powerful, capable, and alive.

Coca-Cola Movement Statement (hypothetical): Life is meant to be shared. In a fragmented world, small moments of connection matter and joy multiplies when people come together.

After doing some thinking around the driving force behind my work, I kept coming back to my core belief:

And when I distilled it even further into a rally cry for that message, I landed on:
Alignment over algorithm.

That single line does more work than any mission statement I ever wrote. It holds my offers. It holds my content. It holds my pacing. It even holds the way I build tech systems.

Because it’s not a description. It’s a declaration.

Why This Matters Now: The Evolution of Business

What I didn’t fully understand at the time was that this wasn’t just about my personal frustration with corporate language.

It was about capacity.

Mission and vision statements are mechanisms built for stability. They’re designed to preserve structure. To protect consistency. To optimize predictability.

But if you are building something that evolves with you, you need mechanisms that move.

You need a spine that can hold expansion.
You need language that adapts without collapsing.
You need a framework that supports change instead of resisting it.

And this isn’t just a preference anymore. It’s becoming a necessity. Because we are entering a completely different era of business that’s being shaped by the astrological climate of this pivotal year.

We’re Entering a Different Era of Trust

Mission statements don’t create that. Movements do. Because movements are rooted in belief. And belief is human.

Emotional Connection Is the Differentiator Now

In a crowded market where everyone has access to the same tools, the same AI copy assistants, the same funnel templates, differentiation is no longer about polish.

It’s about clarity of conviction.

When someone encounters your movement statement, they shouldn’t think, “Oh, that’s a well-positioned brand.”

They should feel, “Finally. Someone said it.”

That’s what creates loyalty. That’s what creates resonance. That’s what makes someone choose you even when there are technically cheaper or more optimized options available.

People don’t rally around services. They rally around shifts.

Movement Is Collective. Sovereignty Is Personal.

This is where most people stop, but I don’t.

Because naming your movement without claiming your sovereignty is a fast track to burnout.

Your movement statement defines the shift you are participating in.

Your sovereignty statement defines how you operate inside that shift.

It answers questions like:

What am I no longer willing to tolerate in my industry?
What pace protects my nervous system?
What am I unwilling to do for growth?
What does success look like on my terms?

For me, sovereignty sounds like:

I don’t build followers. I build leaders.
Business models are architected for the woman.
Urgency is not my marketing plan.
Rest is part of my strategy.
I will not contort for access.

Movement gives your work direction. Sovereignty protects your energy while you carry it.

From Static Plan to Living Ecosystem

When you root your business in a movement instead of a mission statement, something subtle but powerful happens.

Your offers stop feeling random. They become expressions of the same belief.

Your platforms stop feeling scattered. They become delivery systems for the same shift.

Your pivots stop feeling like identity crises. They become natural expansions of the ecosystem.

Your movement stays consistent. Your creation and delivery evolve and compound.

That’s the difference.

If You’re Feeling Scattered, Read This Slowly

You are not too multi-passionate.

You are not bad at branding.

You are not incapable of clarity.

You are trying to compress a movement into a mission statement.

We are entering an era where trust is human, leadership is embodied, and conviction beats optimization. In that world, static corporate language will not carry you.

Belief will.

Name the shift.

Claim your sovereignty.

And let your business organize itself around something that’s actually alive.

I’ve been in Brazil for two weeks now and the contrast is…LOUD. This trip, although intended to be a vacation with a friend, has turned into a philosophical journey of noticing and deep conversations around how we’ve chosen to live. Here’s some more context before I dive into the topic of violence and its impact on our day-to-day.

I’ve noticed something about my nervous system back home vs here.

When I’m at home in Nashville

Even when I’m safe.
Even when I’m home.
Even when nothing is actively wrong.

My body feels braced.

Not in a dramatic way. In a quiet, background way. Like something is always slightly clenched, waiting.

I feel it when I open my phone.
I feel it when I scroll.
I feel it when a headline flashes across my screen about a shooting, an attack, a “random” act of violence that happened somewhere ordinary.

A school.
A grocery store.
A road.

We talk a lot about staying informed.
What we do not talk about is what constant threat exposure does to the nervous system.

Because we are not just consuming information.
We are ingesting activation.

And like anything we consume regularly, it becomes part of our daily diet.

Safety, Context, and the Nervous System’s Need for Rules

Whenever I tell people I like to spend some of my winter in Brazil, I get that look.

The concerned pause.
The lowered voice.

“Isn’t it dangerous?”

What they usually mean is cartels. Favelas. Organized crime.

It is the same look I get when I say I went to college in Baltimore.

Concerned. Protective. Slightly horrified.

Looking back, Baltimore was probably more dangerous than I realized at the time. I was young. I felt invincible. I did not yet understand what my nervous system was absorbing or ignoring just to keep going.

I have lived in New York City.
I have traveled extensively.
I now live in Nashville, in a house where the Ring app regularly asks: gunshots or fireworks?

So this is not coming from someone who has only known small-town peace.

I have lived inside contrast.

And the truth is this. The only place I have ever felt viscerally less safe than the United States was Cartagena, Colombia, when I was sixteen, getting off a cruise ship and being met by men holding automatic weapons. My body clocked that immediately. No context. No rules. No orientation.

That distinction matters.

In Brazil, I feel safe not because there is no violence, but because I understand the landscape. I know where not to go. I do not wander into favelas. I do not go into the north zone unless I’m with a trusted local guide who prioritizes safety (shoutout to Rodrigo!). I do not wave my iPhone around like an idiot begging it to be stolen. I’m not walking around with designer bags and my normal jewelry stack. I move with awareness. I respect the social rules. Because there are rules. The crime is largely organized.

And that knowledge matters to the nervous system.

When danger is structured, the body can orient.
It can map risk.
It can make choices.

What dis-regulates us is not danger itself.
It is unmapped danger.

When threat feels everywhere, the body never gets the signal that it is safe enough to stand down.

Violence as Part of Our Daily Diet

Violence is not new. What is new is how consistently and casually we consume it.

My nervous system did not evolve to metabolize global (OR LOCAL!) tragedy before breakfast.

Yet for many of us, this has become part of our daily intake.

Headlines.
Alerts.
Graphic details.
Commentary layered on commentary.
Shooting here. Attack there. Bombing here. War (current and impending) as daily reality.

And it does not stop at the news.

Murder trials streamed as daily entertainment.
Serial killer documentaries we binge while folding laundry.
Podcasts dissecting horrific acts in intimate detail.

We are not only absorbing facts.
We are consuming sensationalized versions of trauma, packaged for engagement.

And to be candid and real with y’all, I’m guilty of this too! I love a cult documentary and was following the Karen Reid trial and regularly list to the Cult Liter podcast.

From a scientific standpoint, the nervous system responds to perceived threat, not context.

The body does not care whether threat is informational or recreational.

Visuals, narratives, and emotional tone activate the brain’s threat-detection systems before the rational mind has time to evaluate whether something is fictional, distant, or chosen as entertainment. Stress hormones can rise even when we are “just watching.”

This effect is often amplified for neurodivergent nervous systems, especially ADHD, autistic, and highly sensitive people. Ongoing exposure to violence in the news or media creates what researchers describe as open loops. The body stays alert because it cannot complete the stress cycle.

There is rarely a container for integration.
No moment to discharge what was absorbed.
No signal that it is safe to stand down.

And just like food, what we consume physically, mentally, and emotionally shapes us.

It shapes our hormones.
It shapes our energy.
It shapes our sense of safety.
It shapes how much creative life force we have access to.

We are not neutral to what we take in.

Awareness does not neutralize activation.

Staying Informed vs Staying Activated

This is the pattern I hear again and again from friends and clients.

“I don’t know why I feel so on edge.”
“I can’t fully relax.”
“I feel anxious even when nothing is wrong.”

Staying informed has quietly turned into staying activated.

We are feeding our nervous systems a steady diet of threat and then wondering why cortisol is high, rest feels elusive, and decision-making feels heavy.

The body does not distinguish between something happening nearby and something happening through a screen.

It only knows one thing.

Threat detected.

And when threat becomes a daily input, the body adapts by staying ready.

Wintering, Regulation, and a Different Kind of Nourishment

Being here in Brazil has become a quiet experiment.

Not a dramatic reset.
Not an escape.
An experiment in what happens when I change my daily diet.

Here, my nervous system is surrounded by nature. Rainforest and mountains. Ocean and sky. Butterflies, monkeys, lizards. Life that moves slowly enough for my body to track.

My days are shaped by sunlight instead of alerts.
My nervous system is regulated by waves, by wind, by walking, by heat.
My evenings are filled with long, unhurried conversations with friends who know me deeply.

Meals are fresh and nourishing. Local. Unprocessed. Shared.
Food that actually feeds my body instead of depleting it.

And something has shifted.

Not because nothing bad exists in the world.
But because my body is no longer being asked to hold all of it at once.

This has been a successful experiment in reclaiming my nervous system.

In remembering that safety is not just the absence of danger.
It is the presence of nourishment.

It is being in environments that signal to the body that life is allowed to be rich, connected, and alive.

From this place, my energy has returned.
My creativity has come back online.
My thoughts feel clearer.
My capacity feels wider.

Not because I know less.
But because I am more nourished.

Saturn and Neptune in Aries: Consumption vs Creation

This is where Saturn and Neptune moving into Aries feel especially relevant.

Neptune in Aries dissolves old identities around survival and threat. It exposes how much fear we have been unconsciously consuming as background noise.

Sometimes the most aligned question is not “What should I know?”
It is “What can my body actually hold right now?”

Discernment is not selfish.
It is intelligent.

A Gentle Reorientation

This is not a call to disconnect from reality.

It is an invitation to become conscious of your daily diet.

To notice what you consume.
To notice how it lands in your body.
To choose creation more often than consumption.
To let regulation be a prerequisite, not a reward.

We cannot control the world.

But we can choose what we allow to live inside our nervous systems.

And that choice shapes not just our sense of safety, but our capacity to live, create, and move with purpose.

This experience has clarified my mission even more clearly: to help people create lives and businesses that are regulated, nourished, and deeply aligned with how their mind, body, and soul are begging to exist, not how the world demands they perform.

Most people plan their week based on urgency, availability, and whatever is screaming the loudest in the moment.

Which is exactly why so many weeks end up feeling reactive, scattered, and weirdly exhausting even when you technically got things done.

One thing that has helped me a lot over the years, both in life and in business, is understanding that not every day is built for the same kind of work.

There are days that are naturally better for communication. Days that are better for focus and discipline. Days that are better for creativity, visibility, or connection. Days that are better for tending to yourself, your home, or your inner world. And when you start working with those rhythms instead of expecting yourself to be equally social, strategic, polished, productive, emotionally available, and inspired every single day… things get a lot easier.

This is one of my favorite practical ways to use astrology.

Every day of the week is ruled by a planet, and each planet brings a different kind of energy to the day. You do not have to become an astrologer or overhaul your entire calendar to use this. Even just having a loose awareness of what each day tends to support can help you plan your time more intentionally and stop forcing the wrong kinds of tasks at the wrong times.

Mars days are not necessarily subtle. They want movement.

Sunday | The Sun

Sunday is ruled by the Sun, which governs vitality, creativity, confidence, joy, leadership, identity, and self-expression.

This is a beautiful day for reconnecting to yourself. For remembering who you are outside of obligation. For being visible in a way that feels life-giving instead of performative.

Sun days are great for pleasure, play, self-expression, and doing things that make you feel more like you.

What Sunday is good for:

• creativity

• self-expression

• joy

• visibility

• identity work

• rest that feels nourishing

• reconnecting to your center

Ideas for what to do on a Sunday:

• create something just because you want to

• spend time in the sun or outside if you can

• reconnect to your vision, values, or sense of self

• do something playful, expressive, or energizing

• take yourself on a solo date

• wear something that makes you feel radiant

• reflect on who you’re becoming and what you want the next week to feel like

Sunday is a great day to come back to yourself before the world starts pulling on you again.

How to personalize this using your chart

The general planetary rhythm is helpful on its own, but if you want to make this more personal, there are two ways to go deeper.

1. Look at where the ruling planet is in your chart

For example:

• Want to understand your Mondays better? Look at your Moon.

• Want to understand your Tuesdays better? Look at your Mars.

• Want to understand your Wednesdays better? Look at your Mercury.

Then ask:

• What sign is that planet in?

• What house is it in?

That gives you more insight into how that day’s energy tends to show up for you specifically.

For example, if your Mercury is in Capricorn in the 3rd house, your Wednesday energy might feel best when it’s structured, practical, strategic, and communication-focused. If your Venus is in Pisces in the 9th, Friday might feel especially good for beauty, creativity, spirituality, travel, or big-picture inspiration.

2. Look at the signs that planet rules in your chart

This gives you even more nuance.

For example:

• Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo

• Venus rules Taurus and Libra

• Mars rules Aries (and traditionally Scorpio)

• Jupiter rules Sagittarius (and traditionally Pisces)

• Saturn rules Capricorn (and traditionally Aquarius)

• The Moon rules Cancer

• The Sun rules Leo

So if you’re looking at a Venus day, you can also look at:

• what house Taurus is in

• what house Libra is in

• whether you have any planets there

That gives you clues about what areas of life or business are especially activated by that day’s energy.

You do not have to do all of this perfectly. Even a basic awareness goes a long way.

A simple way to try this this week

You don’t need to color-code your whole Google Calendar and become a planetary scheduling robot overnight.

Just start noticing.

Try assigning a general theme to each day and see how it feels:

• Monday: reset / reflect / tend

• Tuesday: act / move / initiate

• Wednesday: write / speak / organize

• Thursday: expand / teach / vision

• Friday: create / connect / beautify

• Saturday: structure / clean / commit

• Sunday: express / recharge / reconnect

That alone can help your week feel way more rhythmic and less like one giant pile of random obligations.

Because honestly, one of the most unbothered things you can do is stop expecting yourself to operate the exact same way every single day.

Some days are for output.
Some are for clarity.
Some are for care.
Some are for beauty.
Some are for building.
Some are for being.

And when you let your week hold all of that, things tend to work a lot better.
