Stop Expecting Yourself to Do the Same Work Every Day
An unbothered way to plan your week using planetary rhythms
Most people plan their week based on urgency, availability, and whatever is screaming the loudest in the moment.
Which is exactly why so many weeks end up feeling reactive, scattered, and weirdly exhausting even when you technically got things done.
One thing that has helped me a lot over the years, both in life and in business, is understanding that not every day is built for the same kind of work.
There are days that are naturally better for communication. Days that are better for focus and discipline. Days that are better for creativity, visibility, or connection. Days that are better for tending to yourself, your home, or your inner world. And when you start working with those rhythms instead of expecting yourself to be equally social, strategic, polished, productive, emotionally available, and inspired every single day… things get a lot easier.
This is one of my favorite practical ways to use astrology.
Every day of the week is ruled by a planet, and each planet brings a different kind of energy to the day. You do not have to become an astrologer or overhaul your entire calendar to use this. Even just having a loose awareness of what each day tends to support can help you plan your time more intentionally and stop forcing the wrong kinds of tasks at the wrong times.
Think of this less like “rules” and more like a rhythm.
It’s one of the simplest ways to bring more intention into your week without making your life more complicated.
TL;DR
Each day of the week is ruled by a planet. Each planet brings a different kind of energy. When you understand what each day naturally supports, you can plan your week in a way that feels more aligned, more efficient, and honestly… way less annoying.
And if you want to go deeper, you can personalize each day based on where that ruling planet shows up in your birth chart.
But first, let’s start with the general vibe.
The Days of the Week
Monday | The Moon
Monday is ruled by the Moon, which governs emotions, intuition, home, inner needs, and your general sense of safety.
This is not usually the day I want to force myself into high-performance mode, and honestly, I think a lot of people would feel better if they stopped trying to make Monday their “dominate the week” day.
Moon days are better for tending, feeling, checking in, and easing in. It’s a great day to create emotional order before trying to create external momentum.
What Monday is good for:
easing into the week
planning from a grounded place
checking in with your energy
tending to your home, body, or emotional world
client care and quieter behind-the-scenes work
Ideas for what to do on a Monday:
map out your week over coffee instead of jumping straight into output
do your CEO check-in or weekly review
clean your space or reset your environment
journal, reflect, or process what’s feeling “full”
answer thoughtful client emails or check in with current clients
cook something nourishing, grocery shop, or take care of life admin
batch lower-pressure tasks that don’t require you to be “on”
If you’ve ever felt like Mondays need to be softer, slower, or more internal for you to function well, you’re probably not wrong.
Tuesday | Mars
Tuesday is ruled by Mars, the planet of action, momentum, courage, desire, and getting things moving.
This is a great day for anything that requires energy, decisiveness, confidence, or a little bit of edge. If there’s something you’ve been procrastinating on because it feels annoying, uncomfortable, or confrontational, Tuesday is usually a better day to handle it than Monday.
Mars days are not necessarily subtle. They want movement.
What Tuesday is good for:
action
initiative
sales
difficult conversations
workouts and physical energy
getting something off the ground
Ideas for what to do on a Tuesday:
send the pitch
follow up on the thing
have the conversation you’ve been avoiding
knock out a task that’s been dragging on because you keep overthinking it
record content that needs confidence or fire behind it
work out, go for a power walk, or move your body in a way that clears stagnation
take the first step on a project instead of waiting until you feel “fully ready”
If Monday is for feeling into the week, Tuesday is for actually getting it moving.
Wednesday | Mercury
Wednesday is ruled by Mercury, which governs communication, writing, ideas, errands, learning, messaging, and mental processing.
This is one of the best days for all things content, admin, conversation, planning, and information exchange. If your brain likes a little stimulation midweek, this is usually the day to use it.
Mercury days are great for things that need words, clarity, movement, or mental agility.
What Wednesday is good for:
writing
meetings
podcasting
content creation
planning
organizing information
conversations and connection
Ideas for what to do on a Wednesday:
write your newsletter, blog post, or Instagram captions
record your podcast or voice notes
schedule meetings or client calls that require good communication
batch content or map out ideas
organize your thoughts, docs, or backend systems
answer DMs and messages
brainstorm, outline, or finally put language to something you’ve been circling
If you’ve ever noticed that certain days are better for getting words out of your head and into the world, Mercury is usually part of that.
Thursday | Jupiter
Thursday is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion, vision, wisdom, opportunity, abundance, and the bigger picture.
This is such a good day for zooming out. For thinking bigger. For reconnecting to your long-term vision instead of getting buried in logistics.
Jupiter days tend to support growth, optimism, generosity, teaching, and saying yes to what stretches you.
What Thursday is good for:
long-term vision
teaching
strategy
expansion
visibility
bigger conversations
networking and opportunities
Ideas for what to do on a Thursday:
work on your bigger business vision instead of just your immediate tasks
teach, host, go live, or share something meaningful
pitch yourself for a podcast or speaking opportunity
revisit your offers, pricing, or growth plan
say yes to the room, the event, or the conversation that expands you
read, study, or engage with something that stretches your thinking
make decisions from your future, not just your current comfort zone
If Tuesday is momentum, Thursday is meaning.
Friday | Venus
Friday is ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty, pleasure, relationships, creativity, magnetism, and value.
This is one of my favorite days to make things prettier, softer, more relational, or more enjoyable. It’s also a great day to tend to your brand, your style, your connection to pleasure, and the parts of your life or business that need a little more softness or delight.
Venus days are not just for romance. They’re for attraction, aesthetic intelligence, and remembering that things get to feel good too.
What Friday is good for:
beauty
branding
creativity
relationships
pleasure
money mindset
connection and magnetism
Ideas for what to do on a Friday:
shoot content, take photos, or work on your visual brand
go on a date, make plans with friends, or do something social
update your website, sales page, or visuals
wear something that makes you feel hot and like yourself
work from a café, buy yourself flowers, or make your workspace feel more beautiful
review your pricing, offers, or relationship to receiving
create for the joy of it, not just because it’s “productive”
If your business has felt dry, sterile, or too practical lately, Venus day is a great time to re-enchant it a little.
Saturday | Saturn
Saturday is ruled by Saturn, the planet of structure, discipline, boundaries, maturity, responsibility, and long-term sustainability.
This is a great day for things that require focus, clean-up, planning, maintenance, and follow-through. Not necessarily in a miserable “be productive at all costs” way, but in a “future you will be really glad you handled this” way.
Saturn days are where you build the scaffolding that supports the rest of your life.
What Saturday is good for:
structure
boundaries
organization
planning
long-term projects
maintenance
responsibilities
Ideas for what to do on a Saturday:
clean, organize, reset, or declutter
handle money admin or personal finances
plan the next week or month
work on a long-term project that needs consistency
do the boring-but-important thing you keep putting off
revisit your boundaries, routines, or commitments
spend some time alone getting your life back in order
Saturday energy gets a bad reputation, but honestly, it can feel deeply satisfying when you use it well.
Sunday | The Sun
Sunday is ruled by the Sun, which governs vitality, creativity, confidence, joy, leadership, identity, and self-expression.
This is a beautiful day for reconnecting to yourself. For remembering who you are outside of obligation. For being visible in a way that feels life-giving instead of performative.
Sun days are great for pleasure, play, self-expression, and doing things that make you feel more like you.
What Sunday is good for:
creativity
self-expression
joy
visibility
identity work
rest that feels nourishing
reconnecting to your center
Ideas for what to do on a Sunday:
create something just because you want to
spend time in the sun or outside if you can
reconnect to your vision, values, or sense of self
do something playful, expressive, or energizing
take yourself on a solo date
wear something that makes you feel radiant
reflect on who you’re becoming and what you want the next week to feel like
Sunday is a great day to come back to yourself before the world starts pulling on you again.
How to personalize this using your chart
The general planetary rhythm is helpful on its own, but if you want to make this more personal, there are two ways to go deeper.
1. Look at where the ruling planet is in your chart
For example:
Want to understand your Mondays better? Look at your Moon.
Want to understand your Tuesdays better? Look at your Mars.
Want to understand your Wednesdays better? Look at your Mercury.
Then ask:
What sign is that planet in?
What house is it in?
That gives you more insight into how that day’s energy tends to show up for you specifically.
For example, if your Mercury is in Capricorn in the 3rd house, your Wednesday energy might feel best when it’s structured, practical, strategic, and communication-focused. If your Venus is in Pisces in the 9th, Friday might feel especially good for beauty, creativity, spirituality, travel, or big-picture inspiration.
2. Look at the signs that planet rules in your chart
This gives you even more nuance.
For example:
Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo
Venus rules Taurus and Libra
Mars rules Aries (and traditionally Scorpio)
Jupiter rules Sagittarius (and traditionally Pisces)
Saturn rules Capricorn (and traditionally Aquarius)
The Moon rules Cancer
The Sun rules Leo
So if you’re looking at a Venus day, you can also look at:
what house Taurus is in
what house Libra is in
whether you have any planets there
That gives you clues about what areas of life or business are especially activated by that day’s energy.
You do not have to do all of this perfectly. Even a basic awareness goes a long way.
A simple way to try this this week
You don’t need to color-code your whole Google Calendar and become a planetary scheduling robot overnight.
Just start noticing.
Try assigning a general theme to each day and see how it feels:
Monday: reset / reflect / tend
Tuesday: act / move / initiate
Wednesday: write / speak / organize
Thursday: expand / teach / vision
Friday: create / connect / beautify
Saturday: structure / clean / commit
Sunday: express / recharge / reconnect
That alone can help your week feel way more rhythmic and less like one giant pile of random obligations.
Because honestly, one of the most unbothered things you can do is stop expecting yourself to operate the exact same way every single day.
Some days are for output.
Some are for clarity.
Some are for care.
Some are for beauty.
Some are for building.
Some are for being.
And when you let your week hold all of that, things tend to work a lot better.
