HD + AI Part 5: How Reflectors Actually Use AI

Fifth in the series on AI built for how your specific energy works. This one’s for the rarest type there is.

Nov 03, 2026

Every AI advice/prompt/thought-piece post I’m seeing right now assumes that everyone wants the same thing:

  • everyone wants to finish more, faster

  • everyone wants their business to run without them

I mean, kind of but not really! I have a slightly different perspective on this:

  • I want to spend more time on the things I love and less time on the things I don’t

  • I want my expertise, discernment, brain power and magic to be focused on things that are human in my business while what I have already defined as a repeatable thing, repeat themselves without draining my energy.

This may sound similar but the intention is different.

I want freedom, not fast. I want to be in my business where the ME matters.

And if you know anything about me or my work, you know that I NEVER look at anything as a one-size-fits-all situation. AI is no different here.

In this series HD + AI, I will be breaking down how each energy type can use AI to run their business in a way that supports what they are good at, and makes the rest easier to manage.

Let’s Talk about Reflectors!

Most AI advice runs on speed. Decide now, ship today, trust your gut and move. If you’re a Reflector, that advice asks for an answer before your design has finished gathering the information it needs.

Reflector strategy is to wait a full lunar cycle, about 28 days, before any major decision. Roughly one percent of people carry this design, with no defined centers, which means you take in the energy of the people and places around you and reflect it back.

A single fast opinion tells you what the room felt like that day. A month of samples tells you what is true. Success shows up as surprise when the answer finally lands and disappointment is the signal that a decision got made too early or in the wrong room.

The mot important thing? The quality of your samples depends on who and where you sample.

Your read on the same question shifts with the person across from you and the environment around you and that variation is the data. Some Reflectors need solitude before anything settles and others get pulled hard by whoever is in front of them. Your profile shapes which, so pay attention to which one you are.

A system to support a Reflector has to account for…

  • a decision that needs a full month, in a world that expects an answer by Friday

  • a read on every question that changes with the person, the place and the day, and a memory that keeps only the most recent version

  • a pile of good samples scattered across texts, calls, and 2am thoughts, with no single place that holds them all

You see, Reflectors work best with a team that holds the thread. Someone remembers what you said on day three, someone notices the pattern across week two, and someone launches the decision once you have landed on it. Back at Hearst I had designers, engineers, and product teams who held every thread of every system I designed. Most of my clients are maxed out, stressed out, and not ready to build a team like that yet.

So this is what I use AI for. I treat it like the team a Reflector would have if the budget were there. It keeps the record across the cycle, it brings the question back to you at the right intervals, and it carries the follow-through once the answer arrives. I also need it to act like the other energy types for a well-rounded team, and the one a Reflector needs most is a Manifestor, the type that sets things in motion. AI can be the one who launches the decision once your month is complete.

This is the how…
