Welcome to ❤️🔥 Aries Season ❤️🔥
Aries season began on March 19th at 10:07pm CDT and runs through April 19th. This is not only the beginning of the new astrological year, but it also coincides with the Spring Equinox (for those in the Northern Hemisphere, Fall if you are in the Southern Hemisphere). It also marks the beginning of Eclipse season and the Mercury Retrograde shadow period. Let's just say there's A LOT to cover. But first...
Let's Take a Look Back
This calendar year has been really heavy so far so it can be easy to skip reflecting on the astrological year behind us as a whole. Let's do a quick recap so we can level-set where we are. This will help us orient to where we are going as we head into this new chapter.
Saturn settled into Pisces ♓
March 7th, 2023—May 24th, 2025
The taskmaster (Saturn) settling in Pisces (the sign of intuition and compassion) asked us to take a look at our boundaries and see where they need to be more flexible and also where they can get more resilient. This included listening to our bodies more, getting in tune with what boundaries no longer work for us and looking at where our dreams have changed and therefore, require new goal-posts. We are about halfway through this work, so continue to pay attention to where Saturn is challenging you. Look to the house where Pisces is in your birth chart for guidance.
Jupiter flew through Taurus ♉
May 16th, 2023—May 25th, 2024
Jupiter (the planet of expansion and opportunity) is almost done moving through Taurus, which brought up themes around money management, low risk investments, commitment, creativity, fertility, and pleasure for the collective. The house in your chart that Taurus rules got an influx of expansion and growth, which at some points may have felt overwhelming. Reflect on what expansion occurred here to prepare for the shift into Gemini in May.
Pluto moved into Aquarius (almost) for Good ♒
March 23rd—June 11th, 2023, January 20th—September 1st, 2024
We got a preview of Pluto in Aquarius before it stationed retrograde and moved back into Capricorn for a stint. Now, Pluto is back into Aquarius until September, where we will have one final period of wrapping up Pluto in Capricorn before it settles into Aquarius through 2043. This is quite literally the beginning of a new era. With new beginnings, come endings and this one is wrapping up a 20 year transformation for whatever house Capricorn rules in your chart. We went through 20 years of breaking down fundamental societal structures and now will spend time rebuilding them in new, innovative ways that support the collective (🤞).
We were catapulted into the Aries/Libra Eclipses ♈ ♎
The Nodes of Destiny in Aries/Libra: July 17th, 2023 — January 11th, 2025
We've spent this time collectively dealing with balancing the Self vs. Other by moving away from self-sacrifice, people-pleasing and codependency and moving towards courage, authenticity and embracing our individuality as not only valid but worthy of all that we want. We will experience the next round of lessons on March 25th (Lunar Eclipse in Libra) and April 8th (Solar Eclipse in Aries). I'll do a specific post about these eclipses soon.
Holy shit, y'all! That was kinda huge.
And also a lot to process. Let's break it down for you MadLibs style (sorry, my millennial is showing). Use the rubric below to fill in your year in reflection based on the major transits above. Look at your birth chart and find the sign mentioned in the sentence. Locate what house that sign is in and replace the placeholder text with the meaning from the cheat sheet below.
My 2023 Astrological Year In Review:
〰️ I am learning to set boundaries and restructure my thinking around my [house ruled by Pisces] so that I can be my highest and best self.
〰️ I believe I am worthy so I embraced opportunities and invited transformative growth in my [house ruled by Taurus].
〰️ I now feel fully transformed in my [house ruled by Capricorn] and take that knowledge with me as I work on my [house ruled by Aquarius].
〰️ I am moving out of my comfort zone of giving too much in my [house ruled by Libra] and am moving towards being independent and proud in my [house ruled by Aries].
Write this down in your journal or notes app so that you can revisit where you were at this time next year! Here's mine:
...and Now for ❤️🔥 Aries ❤️🔥 Season!
First, thank you for taking the time to reflect and get a baseline for what is going on. Astrology is basically like looking at a whole wall of washers at a laundromat. Each washer (planet) is at a certain point in its cycle (transit) and by understanding which loads just started versus which are ready to be moved to the dryer (a new sign), you can understand where you'll need more coins (energy and attention) to start those loads. So what's in store for Aries Season?
♈ The Sun is in Aries...
Aries is the baby of the zodiac and doesn't carry any knowledge of the other signs, which is why this is considered the astrological new year. Aries is a cardinal, fire sign, ruled by mars and can be described as courageous, energetic, independent, impulsive, assertive, impatient, competitive and optimistic. This vibe is great for taking leaps of courage and taking risks based on your gut instinct. Aries, simply put, doesn't know any better.
This is Great for:
〰️ Expressing your most passionate emotions
〰️ Making moves and starting on new projects, businesses or personal goals
〰️ Taking up a new exercise routine or sport
〰️ Getting competitive with yourself
〰️ Building your confidence
〰️ Taking ownership of your decisions
〰️ Seizing opportunities without overthinking
Anyone with major placements in Aries will be brimming with go-getter energy, which is a nice break from the introspective cocoon you may have been in. Aries is about putting yourself first, embodying your authenticity and going after what you want.
Although the Sun moves through Aries every year, how the planets and moon are uniquely positioned each year creates a new landscape that changes the flavor of the season. Right now, several of the planets are working their way through Pisces, including Mars (the ruler of Aries). The tone of this particular Aries season may seem a little less fiery all around and more about directed action in the realms of healing and spiritual connection. Think about this time as being primed for removing any blocks that are keeping you from being your most courageous self.
🌝 🌚 We also have Eclipses...
We've been dealing with this series for awhile and are about halfway through the cycle so depending on the work you've done, these could be felt very strongly or might just feel more like a little nudge.
On March 25th, the lunar eclipse (and worm full moon) highlights imbalances in partnerships and where you may be still giving away your power. Because this is a super-charged full moon, it could feel like a breaking point in a relationship, the straw that broke the camel's back or the nail in the coffin. It could also manifest as a call to vocalize your boundaries in a more assertive manor. Either way, there is something that will no longer stand in a current relationship and this is the apex where you will need to evolve.
On April 8th, we get the second eclipse — a solar new moon eclipse in Aries — which asks us to check in with ourselves and gauge where we are, and are not, showing up for ourselves. Think of this as restarting your computer with a new operating system of everything you have learned since this series started back in July of 2023. You have one more round of deciding where and how you want to go to bat for yourself so use this eclipse to set intentions on how you want to move towards your best and highest self!
⏪ And Mercury stations retrograde...
Not gonna lie, the universe loves a sneaky wink while pushing us towards facing our shadow. Mercury stations retrograde on April 1st — yup, April Fools' Day — marking the beginning of the first Mercury retrograde of the year. Normally, Mercury retrograde in Aries encourages a balance between assertiveness and reflection, urging everyone to navigate challenges with patience, adaptability, and self-awareness. It's a period for growth, introspection, and laying the groundwork for future endeavors. With so many planets in Pisces this season, there's more of an emphasis on existential questions like "what should I be doing with my life?" and "how do I make more of an impact?" and "what makes me so special?".
You may be revisiting unfinished business or making course corrections on an endeavor. Be careful with how you are communicating and whether whoever is on the receiving end is open to Aries' fiery bluntness. You may also be making big moves in your own self-discovery or reflecting on past actions.
What Signs will be most affected during Aries Season?
While it may seem most obvious that those with Aries placements are most affected by this astrology, all cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) will be feeling the transformative energy of this season a bit more than most. Everyone can take advantage of this energy though — read below for your sun and rising for Aries season advice.
